Best kayak place ever!!! Denman island is so pretty and doing a kayak tour is the best way to experience this place. Marco is a knowledgable guide and taught me useful kayaking skills, and introduced me to seals, otter, eagles, fish and crab we saw, really learnt a lot about the area. The kayak gear is so high quality and well-prepared I am so glad I came here and I would highly recommend everyone to come!! Such a cool place I will be back💕

Melodie and Marco were the best! They started where my grandson and I were at in terms of low skill and gave us such great guidance and care as we headed out for a first lesson on some pretty rough water. My grandson did really well under Marco’s tutelage. The two dogs were an additional delight. Melodie answered my query about lessons immediately and both she and Marco were fabulous hosts. We want lessons only with Denman Hornby Kayak in future. It’s more than worth the (very pleasant) ferry ride to Denman from Hornby.

We rented a double kayak from Melodie and she helped us get equipped and ready to go. We enjoyed a gorgeous paddle down around the point of the island, and circled the lighthouse on Chrome Island as the sun set while being followed by a curious seal. Our adventure got even more epic when we misjudged our return spot and ended up overshooting, finally figuring out that we were at the Filongley Provincial Park campground as it started to get dark. Oops!! We called Melodie and she so graciously came to pick us up and cheered our spirits. We would definitely come back again, maybe this time for one of Melodie's guided tours!! 😉

My family and I had a great experience! I particularly appreciated the time that Melodie took to go over the safety procedures.
We headed towards the Lighthouse, easily feasible in a half day rental.
We even saw orcas!

Exceptional Experience my first time in a Kayak. Melodie was very patient and thorough teaching me safety, fundamentals and paddle strokes, first in a safe, shallow bay, then out in the ocean where we paddled along some of the most beautiful shoreline on Denman Island. Thank you Denman Hornby Canoes and Kayaks!
