My friends and I went to the Pipestone Cabin for my bachelor party and had an incredible experience. I alone caught about 65 fish in 5 days, and all of my friends had similar success. We caught pike, small mouth bass, large mouth bass, walleye, lake trout, and muskie.

The cabin was very clean and spaceous, had running HOT water, a shower, an oven and a stove, a nice grill, a fridge and freezer, and lights throughout the cabin.

Dough and Kathy were very kind and went above and beyond to assure we had a good trip. I truly could not ask for a better experience. We will definitely be coming back!

I have been staying at Hideaway Lodge for the past 20 years during the fall deer hunting season. Owners Doug and Kathy are fabulous to deal with and very outgoing people. I recently needed weekend accommodations. They were able to set me up for the short stays and provided me with everything I needed. Hideaway Lodge is a great spot on Clearwater Lake. I highly recommend touching base if you are looking for a family getaway or stay in the area.

My husband and I spent a week at Hideaway Lodge. Our hosts Doug and Cathy were wonderful. We are not experienced in walleye fishing although have lots of experience with other types of fishing. Doug took us on a guided trip the day after our arrival and we were soon catching walleye, thanks to his expertise. Had a wonderful shore lunch with walleye that were about 20 minutes out of the water. For the rest of the week, we were zipping around the lake and catching walleye on our own. We opted for the meal plan. Cathy is a wonderful cook and fed us way too much food. Cabins are well appointed and very comfortable. A wonderful vacation thanks to our hosts and cooperative fish!

If you're headed into Northwestern Ontario as a tourist a traveller or seeking some adventure with a high comfort level, The Hideaway Lodge is the place to go, and stay. ||||While I go with a group of fellows for some Deer hunting, most of the spring, summer and early fall guests are coming here for the fishing. What ever the reason for coming to the Burditt Lake, Off Lake and Pipestone Lake region, you can't do better than Hideaway Lodge. I've stayed at 2 other establishments in the immediate area and Hideaway is by far the best. ||||Our Hosts, Kathy and Doug, worked tirelessly to meet our every need and while we were just 7 men, there were also another 20 people there in other groups that also had their needs taken care of in a first class fashion. Our group opted for the full meal plan and we stayed in the Main Lodge, upstairs from the Dining Room / Lounge. Kathy and Doug are a great team cooking, BBQing, serving and cleaning up at every meal. And for anyone with special dietary needs, Kathy will do her best to meet those needs with some advance notice. ||||Now, I have never fished here but judging from the pictures, trophies and stories, Doug will set up Fishermen and Fisherwomen of any skill level and get them into some action very quickly. As for Hunting, we pretty much do our own thing, but any time we have a question about the surrounding area, Doug is a wealth of information. ||||Although Hideaway Lodge has been around for some 88 years, this is the 25th Anniversary of continuous ownership and operation for the present owners, Kathy and Doug. With their tremendous reputation and such a high level of service to their clientele, chances are that we'll be repeat customers for many years to come. ||||We'll see you folks again next year!

I don't even fish, but a Canadian fishing trip was one of my husband's dreams, and with some trepidation, I agreed to go along. Hideaway Lodge was a perfect choice: the scenery is beautiful, our cabin was cozy and spotless, and there was a campfire every night even though many people went back out to fish some more. We booked a plan with an evening meal provided, and the food was amazing, whether it was Kathy in the kitchen or Doug on the grill. I enjoyed the peaceful environment during the day while my husband fished; some days fishing were better than others for him, but he had relatively good success both with a guide and with just some guidance from Doug. Other reviews have referenced Kathy and Doug's commitment to making stays memorable; that commitment really does set Hideaway Lodge apart from most other places. Kathy patiently answered a seemingly limitless number of our questions before we arrived--in fact before we even booked--so that my husband was really well prepared for his first fishing trip in Canada. It probably won't be his last, and we hope we can return to HideAway Lodge.

I've been coming to this Lodge for almost a decade now and this past year definitely offered many challenges to Kathy and Doug, the owners. But when quality people are presented with a challenge they most often rise up to meet it. Our holiday here exceeded our expectations and guaranteed that we will be back again next year. Beautiful place, fabulous people and Kathy's cooking guarantees you'll need an extra notch or two in your belt by the end of the week. And Doug's "Big Bang" at weeks end is still echoing in my head. Thanks folks.

We rented a boat with Doug and Kathy for three days to do geological mapping on the shores of Burditt and Pipestone Lake. Doug is an outstanding guide and he knows these lakes like his pocket. Without Doug, we would never have achevied our work in three days. We had the luck to taste the fish and chips of Kathy that is very great and Kathy is a great cooker. Thank you again for your welcome and your kindness.

I have stayed and fished in beautiful and exotic locations all over the world. Places that boast of 5 star service, and I can tell you, the service at Hideaway Lodge rivals any of the others. Doug and Kathy, are wonderful hosts, and the fishing? Don't visit them if you like to fish, but if you like to catch, then get off the couch and hit the Hideway Lodge!! Great Fishing and better Hosts!!
