Let's start from the beginning, i have been with Klondike since 2010 (maybe earlier as i used to go in as opposed to emailing), and since then I have had nothing but an amazing experience.
Always treated respectfully, they are very transparent, and go that extra mile to help you get the best bang for your buck.
Although they have a team of fantastic agents I have currently been dealing with Maria Sakaluk for the past 3 or 4 years, and she is phenomenal, if I were to explain everything I felt about Maria this review would turn into a novel. If you are new to Edmonton or even looking to switch companies call Klondike, you won't be disappointed.

I feel they have misrepresented the Service Line Protection (sewer) coverage. I have been paying for $10,000 worth of coverage for years. But the maximum payout would only be $2,500 due to the limit of liability clause and the age of my line. This is found in the fine print, so, I had called to ask about this coverage and the agent never mentioned anything about the age of the line and confirmed my coverage was $10k. But my dwelling was over 50 years old when I bought it (so probably the sewer too)! My guess is: if the sewer line fails, when they dig out the sewer to replace it, and thats when you find out that you only get $2,500. I feel they don't disclose this information and they should

I'm giving a 1 star review not because of the service provided by Klondike, but because of my interactions with 1 of their employees. I recently canceled a policy then received a final bill. When I called to inquire about the final bill Maria Sakaluk had an attitude right from the start. Her demeanor on the phone was very poor. I asked for an email detailing what was owed for the final bill which she provided. During our email conversation I told her the account that was used for payment is no longer available so we needed another arrangement and that I'm giving 17 days notice that the account is no longer active. If they tried to take payment from that account, that I will not pay any additional fees due to them trying that account with 17 days notice. I will pay it by credit card. She then goes on and threatens me with collections on the SAME day I received the bill, even tho I agreed to pay the final bill. Her demeanor and attitude towards the situation was really surprising, her customer service skills need some serious work. If you must use this broker save yourself the headache and speak to someone other than Maria.

The auto broker I had, informed me that the insurance company I was with. Were no longer under them. So I emailed Klondike Insurance and was emailed back by Ryan Marsden. Am I ever glad I did. He not only got me my auto insurance for the all but the same price I was paying (other broker told me lowest was $2000 more a year), he also informed me that Klondike Insurance does Home Insurance as well. Ironically my house insurance company emailed me today informing me that my Rates were going up. So Ryan also did a quote for my home insurance. Very satisfied with the pricing and the way Ryan explained things to me and even have better coverage on my home insurance. Ryan again glad I found you. You are stuck with me now!! hahaha. Sorry for the long in tooth review. Just wanted to clarify I'm very satisfied with not only my rates but the way I was treated. Cheers!

I got quote for around 1700/year from someone from Klondike insurance online and when I went in to their office speak to some personaly he qouted me over 4500/year. The person(Clint) I spoke to was very unprofessional, he just sat me in his office staring at the back of his computer screens, not once did he show me any options or allow me to be involved. He was very unprofessional and did not help me at all, I do not recommend any one use Klondike Insurance and that they be investigated for insurance fraud and over charging customers like several other insurance companys have over the past 5 years.

Honestly, the best, highly recommend, I came over from Australia and bought a car not knowing how hard it would be to get insurance. Went to numerous other brokers, all of which either were very expensive or not willing to help.
Dave not only was willing but also went out of his way on a busy Friday afternoon to get us a great deal, better than we could ever imagine. Absolute legend and can't thank them enough.

Have called around to many different brokers and to be completely honest dealing with Maria has made the stress instantly relieved. Very friendly and open as we talked insurance we also chitchat about each others story and got to know more of each other on what felt a more personal level. The kind of quality that is missing at most brokerages as I have noticed. Having somebody like that really instantly builds that trust. She was very honest and open from the beginning and did not beat around any bushes. I’ve grown to respect her for these simple qualities she offers. In the world we currently live in you feel more like a member of a family and not just a number. I do not know much about Klondike them selves but in my opinion it’s not the company that keeps the customers. It’s the people that represent them. And Maria is one who should teach classes during training. I am grateful I was recommended to her and will continue to spread the word.
