I do not have the words to describe how amazing this charter was. It surpassed all my expectations! I love fishing charters and I take my family on a fishing charter every year. We go different places and try different charter companies each year. I think we have found the best of the best and we'll be going back to NIFA. Our guide/captain Roland was super easy going, welcoming and friendly. He treated us like family! Roland knows the north island like the back of his hand and shared lots of information about the area.He also shared some funny "fishing stories". His knowledge of where to fish was spot on! We caught a hefty salmon and a halibut! Thank you so much Roland for a memorable experience.

VERY FAMILY AND KID FRIENDLY. We really enjoyed our time out on the water with him. He was able to get us into some nice keeper salmon and make it a fun experience. Even when the wind started to blow, he had backup plans. When it was too windy to fish anywhere else, he brought us into a more sheltered area so we could quickly pull up our limit of rock fish (rock cod). In this area he still had to use his motors to keep us in a good spot, but he was willing to burn the fuel to do so. He has all the gear for all types of fishing and isn’t afraid of the thoughts of losing a hook or two if it means getting more fish in the boat. I would highly recommend him to anyone going up this direction. He is very family friendly, for those that may have kids. he is kind of that Grandpa figure that could easily keep kids entertained and happy. He has years of guiding experience and is good with his clients. It was a true pleasure to be out on the boat with him for the day. He does need to stop advertising for halibut on his website though. When we got out there he told us that halibut fishing isn't good anymore because of the long liners. This didn't phase me much because he was such a pleasure to fish with.

I would not hesate to go on a nother charter with Roland he is a down to earth guy super knowledgeable and works hard to get you fish to take home.
