The Throw Down Chef - Jarvis, Ontario

I tried Throwdown Chef for the first time today and the food was absolutely delicious and you can tell it’s cooked from the heart. My partner picked up the food from the restaurant so I didn’t get to meet the owner but my partner said she was lovely and very kind.

We will be back for sure!! We looked at the menu again and already know what we are going to try next.

BEST restaurant food we have maybe ever had in this province! The service was great placing our order at the window and waiting for our takeout. Prices were great as the portions were HUGE and everything was fresh and delicious 🙌
Highly recommend the fried shrimp - it had to have over 20 pieces and even after a 25 minute drive they were crispy and warm.
The curried goat was the best we've ever found and the oxtail was tender with perfect spice - also the best we've had! The rice and peas are addictive in the best way.
The wings were very large and the breading was crispy. The Throw Down Sauce is a must try!!

OHMYGAWD! the food here is absolutely amazing!!!

Food:
We ordered 2 fried chicken meals, pepper shrimp, and two of the curry goat burritos. For having picky eaters for parents they sure did love the fried chicken meals. I enjoyed the curry goat burrito! was just the right amount of meat, veggies and cheese in the burrito, the wrap was not soggy or stale. The pepper shrimp was fantastic too, crunchy fried shrimp with an excellent pepper sauce, plus it was beautifully dished for take out. Excellent quality of food.

Atmosphere:
The owner was very sweet and kind when we arrived. She went over our order and asked if we had any questions and broke everything down as to what came with what. We're still in awe of our experience with her! The atmosphere of this restaurant has good vibes attached 🙂

All and all we will absolutely be ordering from here more often, Its nice to have some variety with take out options in the Jarvis/Simcoe area. Would attach photos to this review but the food was gone to quick 😛 Definitely next time!

This food is delicious! We ordered the large jerk chicken, festival and both the chicken and beef patties. The jerk spice was a perfect amount of heat and tons of flavor. The chicken was tender and juicy. The serving sizes were generous. The restaurant itself is quaint with a breezy feel. This was better than the Jamaican food I’ve had in Jamaica. So, so good! Service was friendly and helpful. The pictures attached are after we dug in, it smelled too good to wait! I hope people will take the extra drive and check it out!

Ordered pickup on Valentine's Day because a coworker recommended it. Fried chicken with coleslaw and potato salad as sides. Everything was delicious. The fried chicken was the best I have ever eaten in my life. Very reasonable and excellent service. I can't wait to try more of what she has to offer.

This restaurant has had an extreme makeover since the new ownership. It is so welcoming and inviting to sit inside and enjoy your meal.
The food is phenomenal!! My partner and I both got the jerk chicken and could not stop eating! The portions are very large and the flavour is perfect! We will definitely be coming back - OFTEN!

Got the fried chicken honestly the best fried chicken I've ever had blows the Kentucky out of the water, the goat curry was excellent goat was tender. Wife got poutine (great) and honey garlic wings (excellent) proportions were huge. Just awesome all around, try it ull love it

Some of the best food I’ve had in months; the flavour was amazing, the service was on another level, and the menu had so many different options! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a filling meal with amazing quality.
