Lovely Spa.
I have been a regular client at the Main Character since they opened. Pedicures, facials, massage and brows are the services I get. The staff is always and has always been professional, courteous and pleasant.
Laurie gives the most amazing facials, soothing, refreshing and I leave feeling revitalized. The Pedicures are an absolute luxury.

I am writing this review in response to the nasty review left by someone recently who, I can only assume, wouldn’t have been happy with any service they received.
(Check the reviews she has left elsewhere, they are also unpleasant).
I wouldn’t want anyone to be swayed from the Main Character by such an angry review.
When I read a review that is overly negative, I usually try to look deeper into the narrators description of the issue. That is simply one miserable person.

I highly recommend giving the Main Character a visit. You will see for yourself how amazing it is.

Extremely Disappointed – Unprofessional and Disrespectful Experience

I had a truly disappointing and upsetting experience at The Main Character Spa. I had called ahead to inform Nicole that I might be up to 15 minutes late for our appointments. She assured me it wouldn’t be a problem, as she had spoken with Laurie, the manager. I ended up arriving only six minutes late, and yet things immediately began to fall apart.

When we arrived, my mother—who had been waiting since five minutes before her scheduled appointment—had still not been brought in for her facial. My daughter and I had both booked brow shaping and lash tinting services (each taking 30 minutes), but we were informed upon arrival that Laurie had a "deadline" and couldn’t complete both of our services. I let Nicole know that I didn’t really need brow shaping, as I’d mentioned at the time of booking, and that if only one service could be done, I’d prefer the lash tint. Both services take the same amount of time, so this restriction made no sense. Nevertheless, I was told only the brow service could be done.

While my daughter was getting her brows done and my mom had finally been taken in for her facial, I continued to try to understand the situation calmly and respectfully. Suddenly, Laurie began yelling at me to “get out” of the spa, accusing me of being disrespectful—something I absolutely was not. I was shocked and embarrassed. I have never been treated this way in a professional setting. I run a business myself and cannot imagine treating a client like this. The behavior was entirely inappropriate and unprofessional.She continued to scream at me about how she had another job and that I didn’t respect that.

Nicole’s only explanation was, “I only work one day a month—I have no idea what’s going on.” My daughter and I left immediately. My mother, thankfully unaware of the chaos, completed her facial, but none of us will ever return.

This was an unacceptable experience, and I would strongly caution others before supporting this business. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and care, and sadly, that is not what you’ll find here.

What a gorgeous spot!
The Main Character is so welcoming. Greeted by warm staff, that make you feel like you're entering your girlfriend's home for a spa/ girl's night in.
I had dermaplaning done by Lindsay, who does the best services. She is very passionate and educated on all things skin! It takes away all the dead skin and fuzz off your face. Followed by some luxurious products to make my skin feel so soft, smooth and glow! Looking forward to going back.

I went to The Main Character to get a pedicure on the weekend and it was one of the best pedicures I have ever received (and I have gotten many). The attention and care to make your experience absolutely perfect is unmatched. I will definitely be returning.

Excellent place to get a manicure & pedicure in Picton!! I got a shellac mani/pedi done for my wedding and they were perfect, plus the service was top notch. Laurie's skills are unmatched!! The spa atmosphere is so calming and friendly and all the staff members I met were lovely. Will be back next time I'm in PEC 🙂
