We had the BEST time renting a double kayak! The folks at Takaya are friendly: they offer tours and rentals. We chose to rent & made it almost to the end of the Indian Arm. Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful. I won't rent from any other place moving forward!

We recently participated in the Takaya Tours cultural experience as part of a team-building event for our organization, and it exceeded our expectations. The tour was a perfect blend of cultural education and adventure. The guides were engaging and knowledgeable, sharing powerful stories and insights into the history of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation. Paddling together in traditional canoes added a unique element that strengthened our sense of teamwork and connection. It was an enriching and memorable experience that we would highly recommend for other teams looking to build stronger bonds.

We rented for an overnight double kayak so we could camp up the Say Nuth Kwah Yum. The staff were incredibly pleasant. We booked the earliest time they had (9 am) knowing the parking lot can get very busy. This allowed us to not feel anxious, got there 45 min early, lots of parking at that time on a Saturday. Takaya will give you a pass to put in your car for the overnight parking and you just pay the $17.50 at the meter. The kayak was a double Necky, which was fine and did it's job but wish it was a Seward as Necky can be a bit heavier, and ours was well used.

FANTASTIC! The customer service was above-and-beyond! The woman who helped us was very thoughtful and really went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. Can't wait to do it again!!

Nice girls working there, very helpful and polite. Kayak for single, double, or paddle boards, well maintained. Picked one up in Belcarra!

If you’re out in vancouver, don’t miss the chance to ocean canoe with members of the Tsleil Waututh Nation. There are no better guides to brave these waters with - especially with groups of students. What a truly breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime experience! We listened to Seth’s stories, learned about shell middens and the local islands, saw seals and starfish and gave our shoulders a run for their money paddling against the wind.
Would love to visit again 🙂

Always an epic experience going out into the Salish Sea with our Tsleil-Waututh friends. Great hosts.

The paddling experience itself was excellent. Some people have written about coming early to get parking, but that won't help you if there just isn't any parking to be had, as you should expect on any sunny summer weekend. Arrange to take transit or get dropped off. If Takaya has any sway with any of the people who make land use decisions, they would be well served to get themselves exclusive customer parking.
