Un utilisateur a déclaré : « J'ai adoré Manitoulin. Ile assez vaste, il faut au minimum 2 à 3 jours si vous voulez bien la visiter. Petit endroit tranquille 5 minutes de marches avec table de picnic pas si facile de stationner proche car c’est un sens unique. On l’île côté est une petite place de parking et l’entrée d’une belle pente vers le bord de l’eau. On y allait à minuit, à l’heure du lever du soleil. C’était incroyable. »

On the island side is a small parking lot and the entrance to a nice trail down to the waters edge. On the hour, the bridge opens and you can walk right onto the fixed portion to watch.

This was a great view of the bridge. My little ones were happy to finally take time to watch it swing open after living on the island for a few years. It was definitely a better view than from the road where we have seen it swing open many times. There are even places to dock a boat to watch from the water. There are a couple tables and an even better view on the dock but we didn't take a photo from there just the grassy area. Would be a great place to enjoy lunch or an ice cream.

The bridge is working one way only, but traffic wasn't that bad. I'm very impressed learning that the bridge has been there for hundreds of years and it still worked. That's amazing!

My homeland Manitoulin Island♡

Little Current a small and very limited beautiful town.... which is home of the famous swing bridge originally built for trains in 1913 by the Algoma Eastern Railway and is billed as the oldest structure on a provincial highway in Ontario.

A little walk around to view point of the Swing bridge was fun and refreshing from long drive. But the visitor center was closed for the season when I visited.
