Beautiful Lake! You can't go up to see it as it's a protected and sacred site but you can still enjoy the beauty from the side of the highway. Quick stop but worth the visit, I'd recommend reading the signs posted.

One of the most unique places in the world. You can’t get close to the lake but can only see from the gate. The lake's colorful spots, caused by high mineral content, are really unique and the colours vary through the season. t's a nice, quick stop on the way to Osoyoos. Must visit!

If you are lucky, you have only two opportunities every year to drive down the road near the lake.
Spotted Lake is a unique and culturally significant natural wonder located near Osoyoos in British Columbia, Canada.
The lake is highly concentrated with minerals like magnesium sulfate, calcium, and sodium sulfates, which create colorful spots when the water evaporates in summer.
During hot months, most of the water dries up, leaving behind pools of mineral deposits that form distinct spots in shades of blue, green, and yellow.
After a long struggle, the Syilx people and Canadian authorities worked to preserve the area, limiting public access to respect its cultural importance.
Visitors can see the lake from a nearby highway (Highway 3), but direct access is restricted to protect the site.

You can tell as soon as you drive up why anyone with reverance for the powers of the "unseen" would regard this place as a very sacred area. The mysterious landscape here beckons to the imagination, creating a sense of presence of the great spirit. This place rests near the top of my "Must see!" list.

I was amazed by this natural feature.
Found west of Osoyoos private property, so I wasn't able to get close.
None the less it was pretty spectacular.

Warning : entrance way is small, not much room. So please be careful if you wanna see it.

A nice spot to stop on your way to wherever you are going. You can only see it from the highway side. There is enough parking for two three cars. Unfortunately you can’t go closer to the lake due to it being protected. Still an interesting lake to see on your roadtrip.

Luckily the community was able to protect this sacred land, so rich in heritage and significance. Not a tipycal tourist setup and and shouldn't be either. You stop by the side of the road and try to show respect for what you see. You can get out of the car but have to stay away from the actual lake of course. It's a privilege to visit.
