Wish I could put 0 stars. It’s been months since I’ve submitted my claim and haven’t heard anything from them. I called twice got no help from customer service except someone telling me it’s going to take even longer to get reimbursed than I thought. Company's old system had 0 issues, claims worked perfect and quick not sure why they implemented a new system full of bugs and confusion. Basically running a scam as of right now still accepting premiums but not paying out.

I have been having issues with Blue Cross not providing payment for services that should be covered. Their website said they are experiencing higher than normal people reaching out to them. Their site suggests using email. I emailed them and waited 6 weeks, no response.
I tried phoning on 2 occasions. Both times, I am on hold for 40+ minutes. I gave up on both those calls. I decided to stop in to their local office. I left for work an hour sooner to give myself what I thought would be a sufficient time cushion to speak to a Blue Cross representative and still get to work on time. I was late getting to work by 10 minutes. That is an indication of how long it took me to speak with a rep and have them explain and acknowledge the problem. The issue, according to the rep, is that someone inputting my information used an asterisk on a certain part of their information. This asterisk makes the claim department believe I have secondary coverage. Yet in the physical description area of my information, there is nothing indicating secondary coverage because there isn't any. The rep said they would send an email to the claims department to correct the error. I will say the rep I talked with was friendly and as helpful as possible given the fact they're unable to correct the problem. That's for the other department to correct. It seems in this day and age that a representative of a company with access to a persons information would be able to correct their companies' mistakes by editing out an asterisk. I was told it would be a few days, and hopefully, someone would contact me and let me know if they have fixed the issue. I am not expecting this to be fixed. Maybe they will surprise me? Unlikely, but you never know.

One star because zero is not an option. Customer service is almost non-existent. Every prescription they try to refuse and require special government letters. Every phone call is AT LEAST an hour on hold before you even talk to a person. Call back service doesn’t happen so don’t try. Weeks if not months to get very basic claims processed. This company should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves and their “service”.

If there was a way to rate lower than 1 I would have used that. Worst change over in a system Ive been involved in. Almost all previous claims are no longer accessible, claims I had waiting to get approved and paid before the change over were deleted. When trying to resubmit I only got partially paid out and tried getting the rest paid with no result. Got an increase in the plan cost without being told; given features that seem to be totally useless. Website and phone lines keep promoting self service to only be faced with the self service options no populating info needed or working at all. Need premium receipts for my taxes as an example, self service populated no info at all, took them 3 weeks from my initial email for them to actually send them to me. And now Im trying to cancel my plan which is also taking days to complete. At this point Im paying the monthly premium to only attempt to get money back, not even worth the money they owe me vs the premium at this point. So sad as the previous app and submissions worked flawlessly. Clearly this wasnt tested or thought out in any manor.

This company is horrible. I am a type 1 diabetic. Need insulin to live and blood glucose monitors. Companies have came out with wearable monitors and pumps to better your day to day life. Anything that helps me better they do not cover or ask me to have special paperwork filled out at a cost of 150 from the dr. This paperwork has been done on my provincial level but they still want theirs done. Seems ridiculous. Dr. Says yes you need this medicine and gives you a prescription yet your insurance provider can go ahead and make up their own rules just so they don’t have to cover anything. Currently looking into options to opt out of my group plan with sk blue cross and go to someone who gives a shit. Would rather pay more than deal with this joke of a plan and company. Take in billions of customers money yet deny deny deny.

This is the worst insurance company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They are clearly taking a page from United Health by not providing for their insurers. They choose to drag their feet, and are nearly impossible to get ahold of for any real help. They don't care, their system is terrible, and I am legit looking for a new employer just to get away from this horrid insurer.

It’s obvious that the transition to the new portal and app did not go well. A company this size should have expected the increased demand and had contingencies in place. Two months and waiting on a claim and the lack of access by phone or email to an agent is simply poor business practice.

Considering leaving BlueCross after almost 10 years because of their “update”. I’m type 1 diabetic and am constantly paying for supplies like sensors, needles, etc. It’s ridiculous that these aren’t a part of the benefits that would be automatically covered through my plan. I need to pay them at the pharmacy and submit on my own. I’m out hundreds of dollars waiting for reimbursement that’s taking upwards of a month.
