L'endroit bien situé pour visiter les principaux sites touristiques. Les chambres de l'étage principal ne sont pas des plus modernes mais propres, avec vue sur le lac et le lever de soleil) et spacieuses (grand lit super confortable, table ronde avec 4 chaises, petit canapé, télé, frigo, bouilloire, grand bureau). Les propriétaires, une famille adorable, s'assurent de notre confort et offre leurs conseils pour bien profiter de notre visite. C'est comme resté dans un B&B avec l'avantage d'une chambre à part. L'accès au lac et tout l'espace autour de l'hotel sont vraiment bien aménagés et amusant à explorer (cave, chemin des contes pour enfants...). Dommage que la piscine ne soit pas en opération à cause de COVID. Le petit déjeuner et le souper étaient délicieux et suffisant pour les gros appétits. Ping-pong et feu de camp pour agréer nos soirées. Excellent choix pour les couples ou les familles!

We had the most wonderful evening at the Rockgarden Terrace. The setting alone is breathtaking — perched high above Lake Mindemoya with an intimate, cozy atmosphere and incredible views. We even saw a bald eagle fly by as we were enjoying dinner!

The menu is thoughtfully curated with five entrée choices. At our table we sampled the beef, the Wiener Schnitzel, and the fresh whitefish — all beautifully prepared and delicious. Dessert was just as memorable: half of us indulged in the rich chocolate torte, while the others enjoyed the traditional German apple strudel with ice cream. Both were absolutely outstanding and the perfect way to finish such a special meal.

The service was outstanding — warm, attentive, and never rushed. Sharing this experience with friends and family made it even more memorable. This is truly a hidden gem on Manitoulin Island, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I love going there! This was my second year, and I can't say enough good things about it. The newly renovated rooms feature hardwood flooring throughout and terrazzo in the bathrooms, and the beds are very comfortable.

The terraced garden is a peaceful place to relax, as are the numerous benches spread throughout the property. I also had an excellent massage on-site, and I plan to do that again!

Although the pools weren't ready yet, I look forward to enjoying them next year.

The food is top-notch! Angela is a fantastic chef who cooks with heart. Carmen is amazing; she ensures that every need is met and that expectations are exceeded.

I will definitely book again for next year!

It is exactly what you expect and more. Clean, best sleep I’ve had in a hotel.
The Food is to die for, best food we’ve had in any restaurant.
We couldn’t stay for breakfast, the ladies made us a Togo bag. We ate it cold, and still was the best egg and bacon sandwich I’ve ever had.
The atmosphere at dinner was amazing, only three tables, service was spectacular, view breathtaking. We were lucky enough to observe a giant woodpecker.
I would go back just for the food. Never mind the glorious views, quiet scenery, clean rooms and friendly hosts.
It’s worth it, just book.

Rock Garden Terrace Resort is truly one of a kind. I had a wonderful trip here with my sister. It felt like stepping into a fairy tale.

The entire experience was amazing, and I hope to be back as often as I can!

A resort you must return, accommodating, spectacular views and comfortable stay. Bonus, really great home cooked meal.

This is an overdue long review, we were there two weeks ago. My husband and I got the two night package on the upper level with meals. Can I say, just how grateful my husband and I feel about your welcoming and serene resort, and we really appreciate your attentiveness, patience and kindness towards the both of us.

We arrived around 3pm, and was immediately greeted by Carmen, and she jumped into welcome mode, gave us a map with ideas of what we can do on the island, showed us the dinning room - took our dinner order and gave us the key to our room - so that we can rest because of our long journey.

Our room with king size bed is spacious and clean, with a lot of space to move around and store our belongings. I can tell they just recently renovated the bathroom it was modern and sparkling clean - just the way I like it. There is a balcony and the lake front view was SPECTACULAR, below the balcony looking down is their meditation garden, it has been meticulously planned and planted, I can tell they put in a lot of effort and labour into making it perfect. I end up taking the path a few times just to enjoy the view and all the plants the island has to offer. Now the view, if you have never experienced being able to see the sunrise in the warm comfort of your own bed, this is the place to go. The big glass sliding door, allowed me to do that, for two mornings, the view was wide, the next day I managed to set up my phone to take a Timelapse of the sunrise, it was great!

The food, to be honest, initially I didn't have any high expectation, o boy was I wrong, I enjoyed every bite and the freshness and cared they put in the food too. The Apple Strudel, the Veal Schnitzel, and the special peace fruit cup made just for me due to my lactose...every detail, every offering was tailored to our needs. If we are too full from dinner, Carman even offered to packed us a box to take it to our room. SO NICE! Aaand when I mentioned I will be going to an Ecopark for a night hike, my husband and I was so inexperienced, we didn't have any lights or warmer clothes (duh on our part) She packed me a blanket and gave us a big flash light to bring with us. That is really attentive and going above and beyond to taking care of your guests.

Also the path to the cave was really cool, loved that every turn there are hand made whimsical fairy tale sculptures along the path. The cave itself has a tragic history background, and the formation of the interior is fascinating. For those that are interested, there are also many books at the resort about Manitoulin Island - I geeked out on the Geology book that mentioned the formation of the cave and different types of unique ecosystem Manitoulin has to offer. For my husband and I we had a really lovely end of summer stay, it was serene, quiet and carefree accommodation, we would definitely come back, my husband wish to explore the island and the resort lake front next year. Hopefully we can schedule a summer stay in the future!

We had the pleasure of spending a full week at the Rock Garden Terrace Resort during the first week of September, and it was an experience of true world-class hospitality. The property itself is a gem—featuring a beautiful swim dock, a charming terrace garden, and first-rate amenities including a sauna and spa that made our stay both restorative and memorable. The Mindemoya Cave, located right on the property, is a remarkable natural feature and well worth a visit in itself, while the resort’s waterfront offers direct access to the crystal-clear waters of Lake Mindemoya, perfect for swimming, relaxing, or simply soaking in the beauty of the island.

The dining experience was a delight throughout our stay. The menu is limited by design, yet thoughtfully curated to highlight fresh local ingredients while also reflecting the German heritage of the ownership. Every dish we enjoyed was prepared with care and skill, striking a perfect balance between regional character and authentic European influence.

What truly sets Rock Garden Terrace Resort apart, however, is its outstanding service. Over the course of our weeklong stay, the warm and attentive staff frequently anticipated our needs before we voiced them, and they were endlessly patient and enthusiastic in answering our many questions about Manitoulin Island. Their thoughtful suggestions for places to visit enriched our time on the island immensely. Each day we returned to a freshly made bed and a spotless bathroom, small but significant touches that elevated our comfort. As this was also a cycling holiday, we greatly appreciated the secure storage provided for our bicycles.

We wholeheartedly recommend Rock Garden Terrace Resort to anyone seeking refined accommodation, exceptional dining, and genuine hospitality while visiting Manitoulin Island.

A real treat for yourself and your loved ones.
Recently my husband and I spent a few days for our Anniversary at this beautiful precious Gem on Manitoulin Island.
Every moment and day spent there has been a wonderful experience for us.
From the beginning, the warm friendly and hospitable welcome to everything the resort offers guests (clean and comfortable rooms, nicely furnished, Amazing views of Mindemoya River and nearby landscapes, stunning sunrises and moonshines, Peacefulness and tranquil of Nature, atractive and beautiful rockgardens, wonderful cooks and very tasty, creative and plentiful European meals, great and entertaining activities right on the property; lovely metal and wooden carvings, relaxing forest trails and most unique native cave to walk in.
Angela, Carmen, Sander and Sebastian it has been a pleasure meeting you and spending time on your very unique property.
