In September 2023, I spoke with Afshaneh Dashti about buying an apartment. She changed my mind and said that the market is not good and prices will drop in a few months. The next day, she called me and mentioned that alongside real estate, she also handles short-term second mortgages. She suggested using my down payment of $190,000 as a short-term loan for her second mortgage business, assuring me that she would return the money whenever she found an apartment for me, instead of letting it sit in my account earning interest.

However, when I requested my money in March 2024, she told me the money would be deposited into my account at the time of purchase. I bought an apartment through Afshaneh Dashti, but to this day, she has not returned my money, putting me under severe mental and financial stress.

In September 2024, The apartment that Afshaneh Dashti arranged for me was one of the worst deals. She made the transaction to receive her commission and generate more profit from me. The house was written without any conditions or inspections and was filled with issues such as mould and Bed bugs, no appliances working, leaking and much damage with a filthy apartment without even cleaning or vacuuming. We have an internal air test report that the appointment was not liveable Condition Because of too much mould in the air. I had to move out of the apartment staying in Airbnb for 4 months to completely gut out the entire apartment which cost me $100,000. She was never present during the apartment Showing or either closing or walk-through to pass a key. The keys were Passed to the sales agent and were keys missing. I had to ask for a month to receive My keys like a mailbox, storage key and entrance, home and fob key. Until now one set of The entrance key and Fob missing the previous owner has it. She never saw the house she purchased for me. Meanwhile, she held onto my down payment and has not returned it, putting me in a dire financial and mental situation.

For several months, since the middle of 2024, I contacted the Remax office more than six times and even visited in person to explain my situation to the branch manager, Bob Scott, but each time he ignored my calls and did not respond. Eventually, I managed to find his direct number through a search, and after messaging him twice, he answered my call very rudely and angrily, questioning why I was calling. He stated that he had no responsibility regarding Afshaneh Dashti's actions. I mentioned that she was using the name and credibility of Remax to take money for these short-term loans, and he said it had nothing to do with him, claiming Afsi Dashti had no responsibility regarding the apartment she purchased for me.

Before I spoke with Bob Scott, I learned that Afshaneh Dashti has a legal history with BCFSA and later she got a $50,000 fine. She is supposed to operate under Bob Scott's supervision. However, Bob Scott is unwilling to accept responsibility, which is very unusual.

AfsI Dashti was illegally operating with a fake business that doesn’t exist, having taken $3,000,000 from me and over 15 others using the credibility of Remax, and she has now declared bankruptcy to avoid paying us back.

If the officials at Remax had acted promptly, others would not have fallen victim to this scam. After I wrote a review, Mr. Scott McDonald contacted me and asked me to remove it and not mention Remax. Are you not responsible for the credibility and actions of your agents? I learned the following week that Afshaneh Dashti is still working at Remax Sabre and continues to solicit money from people through lies and deceit.

We are, of course, pursuing legal action against Afshaneh Dashti and her accomplices with our lawyer.

Sandra was constantly in contact with me. Even before I was ready to list it she was so helpful with up to date information. It was a slow market and she had a number of open houses and kept me informed. Sandra continually contacted all the Agents of the buyers who showed interest. She sent leaflets to everyone In the building describing my mom's apartment. And from that idea she got an offer. The buyer had two friends in the building and was interested.

Just signed the most messy lease this year...
Craig Cook is the most unprofessional realtor you will ever come across.
Rudeness aside, which could be just a result of his eccentric personality, he side steps most of your questions and refuses to leave a paper trail so be very careful dealing with him. Make sure he signs what he says. Two stars for surprising me and actually getting a deal signed at all. Go with another realtor within Sabre if you have to, or don't go with them at all.
