La plage est magnifique et l'endroit est charmant, beaucoup de nature. La localité de Picton a tous les essentiels si vous êtes en camping et qu'il vous manque quelque chose. J'aimerais beaucoup voir la plage pendant l'été!

Just want to give you a bit of information about our stay.
Upon arrival, we found the garbage not emptied, spiderwebs everywhere, the water smelling very bad and we did not have the pass to the dunes. We paid our visit.
Disappointed with the overall state of the rental we decided to go at the hotel.
Very dangerous balcony for children!

Ee have stayed at Edgewater Park from August 18th to 23rd, 2024

Regarding the rented place, here are some comments :

1. The indications to find the trailer/mobilehome were not that clear and the home had no sign indicating it was the right one. We had to compare the pictures on the website to make sure we got into the right mobilehome.
2. When we arrived we noticed that none of the following items were on the table as the email indicated:
- No Keys: owner said they were looking for a solution. It never came. The house was therefore never safe when we were out.
- No Sandbanks Beach Pass. We had to go ask for it at the Westlake Watersports by ourselves.
- No Map for Edgewater Campground-location for Garbage Disposal. We found it on the bookshelf after taking a look at the whole place.
-Westlake Watersports information: nothing. And also the Waterpark was not even running. We were expecting to have it to enjoy it.
- extra copy of your Rental Agreement located on the kitchen table. Nothing, we did not receive via email the copy of the rental agreement.
3. Cleanliness of the place was doubtfull:
- a lot of sand in the whole place when we arrived. Wasnt'it supposed to be clean before we arrived?
- food crumbs in the small bedroom, under the nightstand and by the couch.
- kitchen cutlery and cookware were not quite clean either we had to clean them before use.
4. Furniture:
- the couch was dirty and repugnant. We had to put a bedsheet to cover it.
- coffee table: one of the feet is really loose and fragile.
- Outside : the wooden bodyguard is wobbly and it is dangerous to stand by it.
- most of the window blinds were also already broken. One is missing on one of the 3 windows in the livingroom.

We rented the place expecting it to be cleaner than what we had. Renting has a cost and in all their messages the owner repeated what they expect renters to do before leaving, but it seems that the cleaning between the previous renters and us did not quite do his/her job either.

We asked for some reimbursment for all the inconveniance and the owener never answered our e-mail.

I'd recommend ? you can camp or have a day pass, make sure you display the documents they give you .. you can fish and kayak, and rent from them. A refundable deposit is needed for any kayaks and gear. They have also have posted walking trails of various abilities and are easy to hard. I did the sand dunes trail ? well worth it when it sends you past the dunes beach ⛱️ the site has a shop and small eating place and the campground is well signposted. The main beach is the pictures posted above. All are in walking distance, or you can park to make life easier to carry all your beach stuff. The small town Picton is a shot drive and has a lot of good eating spots, and you can stock up on provisions. Sandbanks is a well-known site and a national park, and it's a first come basis, and slots fill up quickly. It's so popular. I had a fantastic experience.

Two stars because of the location. First of all, if this place has a cleaning staff they need to be fired. The only thing CLEAN was the bed linen and towels. I know cottages have spiders, but this place is inundated with them. Cobwebs everywhere even on the lamp shades with bugs included, windows, doors web/bug infested. My husband spent evenings catching and evacuating those he could put outdoors. Only kitchen appliance we used was the microwave as pots and pans, toaster, coffee maker were all disgusting. So glad I took our own coffee maker, paper plates and cutlery. Water cooler was unplugged and jug empty. My husband being 80 years old was not going to slug a full jug to replace so we bought water. Used bottled water for washing, teeth cleaning as tap water smelled awful. Shower drains directly to the ground outside which is not environmentally friendly. Ad says tv in every room, "Smart" tv's that do not get any channels. Kept saying "no connection", so why bother having them. We washed two chairs on the deck before sitting on them. This is such a beautiful area that we tried not to spend any time at the cottage but had to sleep and eat there. Did not meet the hosts. Sent several text messages and only got one reply about the tv's. They are very big on rules and regulations but need to ease up on the check out time of 10 a.m. Allowing from 10 till 4 for cleaning is a joke considering, what the place looked like. I am certain all they did was change the bed linen and towels. Will not be back..

Video didn't work how discussing the place looked when we showed up, and Dana wasn't very helpful never answer her phone so I got were they where staying from young man at rental park. Outlet didn't work in living room when we left place looked cleaner even after they called a cleaner in before we arrived . But hope they do well but I wouldn't rent from them again
