I've been a self-directed investor for many years, but with no clear focus or plan. I needed a fee-only advisor to help me focus and to confirm I was headed in the right direction. I'm very glad I found Owen and PlanEasy! The process of tracking your spending isn't easy, but Owen makes sure you understand everything along the way. I have worked with Owen for a few years now on a business level as we often refer clients who need financial plans over to him. The feedback I have had was always overwhelmingly positive which is why I worked with him personally to help my soon to be retired dad with a financial plan. My dad was exceptionally stressed with his impending retirement and did not think he could afford the loss of income. Through Owen's meticulous work, he pointed out the myriad of government benefits, combined with tax reduction strategies and modest spending changes, we covered the shortfall in full. My dad was beyond relieved and delighted and indeed moved his retirement date two month earlier to give my mom "the best birthday present ever" and stop working.

While the financial plan was for my dad, I was the one who inputted the necessary information to PlanEasy's website, and I also spoke with Owen. I found using the website seamless and easy and when I did have small hiccups, Owen was quick to provide guidance. The turnaround to get the financial plan and the consultation with Owen was very good and Owen did a great job explaining everything in our meeting. We also played out various alternative scenarios which I appreciated.

We completed a Financial Plan recently, since I'm approaching retirement. Very impressed with the process and the sophistication of the Plan Easy Platform. Based on your goals and assumptions, the final plan breaks down precisely how much you withdraw from various investments (eg non-registered, RRSP, TFSA, etc) and when to take OAS and CPP, in order to minimize tax. The detailed plan gives guidance on what you need to do, and when -> very impressive. The money was well spent and my wife and I feel more confident in our upcoming plans for retirement.
