Beware of Peterborough Public Health: A Breach of Trust

It is disheartening to witness the alarming level of misconduct and abuse of power exhibited by Peterborough Public Health and its political leadership. Rather than prioritizing the health and safety of our community, they seem more focused on fear-mongering tactics and questionable practices that undermine public trust and advance political agendas. Both the previous MHO and the current one take the view that they cannot be held accountable to the regulatory body for physicians since they are politically driven- which means your health is in the hands of a MHO earning 500,000 a year to lie

The actions of certain health inspectors are nothing short of appalling. Hiring individuals with criminal backgrounds raises serious concerns about their integrity and professionalism. These so-called inspectors appear more interested in intimidation than in safeguarding our community’s health.

Additionally, the alleged instances of perjury and extortion have left many residents, including myself, feeling vulnerable and unsafe. It's unacceptable for an organization entrusted with our well-being to resort to such unethical behavior. The fears they instill in the public often seem unfounded and manipulative, rather than informative and protective.

Moreover, the reports of trespassing and unprofessional conduct from their officers highlight a disturbing pattern of abuse of power. It is imperative that we hold such organizations accountable for their actions, as they affect the lives of countless individuals.

I urge everyone in Peterborough to be vigilant and critically assess the information we receive from public health officials. Trust is built on transparency and respect, not fear and intimidation. Let’s demand better from Peterborough Public Health. They need to be reminded that their primary responsibility is to the community, not to further their own agendas through questionable practices.

Had the worst experience here. Staff was rude and lied to us about proper care. After getting a second opinion we finally learned how poor this facility's leadership was.

I had the best experience at this clinic. I was on a goose hunt looking for a clinic that would do my tb test and the staff were very compassionate given my unique situation and Dr. David helped me complete the necessary steps smooth and swiftly. This is a very compassionate and ethical team and I am very thankful for their help. I don’t know what I would’ve done without them on such a time sensitive situation. Thank you all!

Very well organized. We were in and out in a very reasonable time frame. I had my 5th vaccination but did not get a receipt as in other times. Just wondered with Peterborough's demographic of nearly 25% seniors why. Many seniors are not computer literate and would probably not get their information printed from your online site.

Almost 3 weeks have gone by with absolutely nothing done about our severe mould issue. After 2 weeks it was assigned to some other woman who doesn't have a clue either. Numerous phone calls, constantly brushed off. Total incompetence. Useless. Pathetic.

Yesterday I received my booster shot at the Healthy Planet Arena. As in the case of my two previous injections there, the overall process was exceptionally well-organized and remarkably efficient. Thank you for all of your difficult and excellent work, PPH! This cannot be a 5-star review, however, because the booster shot experience differed from my previous experiences in one important respect. I found everyone friendly and pleasant as usual until the nurse arrived to jab me - she was verbally and even physically abusive. She was condescending, insulting, and extremely rude. Beware of Jennifer Fraser! Is it possible to register a formal complaint against this person? I was astonished to learn later that she is "Manager" of the Kawartha Cardiology Clinic where she has also received poor reviews regarding her abusive treatment of patients.

Just hung up from a young lady named Amber. She could not have been kinder.
She was able to give me some advice on how to get a vaccine for someone in my family who is high risk. Amber was so polite and empathetic. She totally understood my frustration and acknowledged my worries. She took the time to listen to my concerns and advised me of our options.
This staff is working as best as they can with the information given to them.
Remember that they are front line workers too.. Be kind and respectful. They have been working in a very stressful environment for a year.
Thank you again Amber. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I sincerely appreciate everything that Peterborough Public Health has done during the pandemic. From reliable science-based medical information to mass vaccination clinics to counsel to people running public events in the midst of ever-changing provincial regulations, they’ve been brilliant, brave and accessible. Thank you.
