I recently visited Paragon Place with my father who has been a resident. We were visiting a friend of his who lives in Paragon Place. Before going into details, I can say that my experience with the facilities, the staff and the food service and meals were all top notch.

My dad had preciously mentioned both tha kindness of the staff and the excellence of the food provided.

The facility is basically a medium sized apartment style complex with rooms for about 200 residents. At the time I visited, I estimate there is probably close to 80 residents who are currently living there. The room I saw was a reasonably sized single bedroom unit. It has a separate kitchen area, a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom and a hall closet. There are apparently larger rooms that are available for more cost.

We joined two friends for lunch in the cafeteria/dining area. The residents are served coffee, tea or water before meal and then proceed to the line to pick up their food. They can ask for more or less food than is offered and the meals are nicely planned with healthy components to the meals, such as vegetables, salads etc. The main course I had while visiting was excellent. The staff serving was also excellent. Kind, positive and genuinely caring.

Residents were called by name and at every turn it seemed both staff and residents were supporting anyone who needed a bit of help. I was honestly moved by the culture of caring I was seeing . It is clear that intentionality and care have gone into what kind of people are hired, what kind atmosphere they hope to build and what resulting community and culture have sprung up out of that planning.

I will be returning to visit residents, including my father, in the future. If you are looking for retirement community with apartment style rooms and a wonderful staff this place may definitely be worth your time to visit.
