What a wonderful trip we had with OnTop Mountaineering! The 3 of us signed up for their 9/1/24 Dolomites High Peaks VF trip. From the beginning, Jessica in their office kept us informed and answered my many questions promptly and thoroughly. We were then informed Jorg, the owner of the company would be our guide. Jorg is certainly experienced and competent and fun and easy to be around. We really appreciated his flexibility!
Unfortunately, we had several days of poor weather so we had to scale back on our first choice via ferratas, but we were still able to get out every day and do fun ones. Our hotel in Alleghe was nice and comfortable. Can't wait to return next September and will definitely use OnTop again.

My wife and I have done 2 trips with OnTop - The Wapta Traverse (in March 2019) and most recently the AV 2 in the Dolomites (this past September 2024). Both trips were awesome! From the beginning, Jörg, Heather and Jessica were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and listened to our wants and worked with our travel schedules to plan safe, challenging, and enjoyable trips. I have since recommended OnTop to others seeking amazing trips in both the Canadian Rockies and within Europe.

Our group just finished a 7 day hut to hut hike & via Ferrata in the Dolomites. Thanks to the On Top guides Jorg and Paul as well as Jessica with planning, this truly was a trip of a lifetime for the 7 of us. Jorg and Paul were extremely competent and professional as well as fun and personable. They dealt with weather, different skill levels, and unforeseen circumstances (Covid) without much more than a hiccup. The via Ferrata was challenging and exciting. The hut selections as well as the Hotel Panda in Cortina were outstanding. In addition, the scenery, food, and wine were nothing to complain about!! We already plan on coming back in 2 years for another adventure with On Top Mountaineering! I would highly recommend this company for your next outdoor adventure.

OnTop Mountaineering provided a world class adventure experience with their Brenta Dolomites Via Ferrata trek. Giordano was an absolutely perfect guide for us! Our safety was always his top priority, but fun and adventure were very close behind. His enthusiasm, joy and love of the mountains was evident from the start. He is obviously well respected in the region, as many people flocked to him for information (routes, weather) in the rifugios. He really is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met.

The trip organization and communications were spot on. I don’t think I ever waited for more than a day for a response, and the responses always addressed all of the questions/concerns (no partial responses…which can get frustrating). The pre-trip info package was very helpful.

The itinerary for the trek was great! I’m really glad we decided on the hut-to-hut trek (instead of a central hotel and day trips). The vibe in the rifugios was wonderful, and each one had a distinct character. I wouldn’t want to miss that. Some days were very strenuous but we were well prepared for that. I would love to see other multi-day/hut-to-hut routes in the future.

The rifugio breakfasts were ok, nothing really special. The dinners were all good, with plenty of food.

Overall, I rate the trek a 10+ and have already recommended to several people.

Great trip with OnTop Mountain Guides! A buddy and I traveled to hike and climb in the Dolomites in September 2022. It was an absolutely amazing trip. Guide (Thomas) was excellent. Communication with HQ was wonderful from the beginning and the trip itself was perfect. Highly recommend.

Had a fantastic via ferrata hiking trip in the Dolomites with On Top Mountaineering! From the first email, they were truly “on top” of everything—easy to communicate with, able to get a coveted booking at a hut in the mountains fairly last minute, and paired me with a really excellent guide. I explained my fitness level and general preferences and they picked out the ideal itinerary, and offered local tips on places to stay before and after the overnight trek. The gear was good quality, I always felt safe and well-looked after by my kind, accommodating and generous guide, Luca. Jorg, Heather, Jessica and Luca provided excellent service throughout and I would recommend On Top to anyone wanting an absolutely amazing experience with no fuss.

I rarely do this but my experience with OnTop Mountaineering during our 6-day Via Ferreta tour of the Dolomites was so good that I had to tell the world. Everything about our trip was excellent from start to finish. Great communications from the team at OnTop Mountaineering to an excellent choice of huts in the Dolomites to a fantastic guide. What a trip and what a tremendous experience. We will use OnTop again and I would have no hesitations recommending them to anyone looking for a unique and well planned travel adventure.

Well, we used OnTop again this year (2024) and had another fantastic experience during our 6 day hut to hut hike & via Ferrata in the Dolomites. Hats off to the entire OnTop team for putting together such a great itinerary and giving us another trip of a lifetime.

Just finished a 6 day self-guided trip in the Dolomites on AV2 organized by OnTop Mountain Guides, had a great time! Lodging / food were top notch, the GPX files + maps were super helpful, and hikes were amazing. Can't wait to do Haute Route Glacier Trek with them next!
