It’s incredibly disappointing to write this, especially because Omar was fantastic when he handled our mortgage a few years ago. However, I must warn others that the level of service has since collapsed. Our experience since November 2024 has been a downward spiral of missed deadlines and alarming unresponsiveness.

The current situation is inexcusable: we received an approval from TD in early April, and two months later, the deal is still not finalized due to his inaction.

Here is what you can now expect:

* Total Lack of Communication: It’s normal to wait days for a response. We had to send multiple messages over several days just to get a single, often vague, reply.

* Constant Missed Deadlines: Omar repeatedly set firm deadlines for completion. Every single one was missed without any proactive communication or explanation.

* A Cycle of Frustration: The process became a loop: chase for an update, be ignored, eventually get an apology with a new empty promise, and then repeat.

I have now been forced to escalate this to TD's Senior Customer Complaints Office. It’s sad to see a once-great professional relationship deteriorate so completely. While I’m grateful for his past help, I cannot in good conscience recommend his services to anyone now. The current lack of diligence and communication is a serious liability.

I would avoid using Omar as a mortgage broker in the future. Poor communication. Slow to respond to us during the preapproval process and then when it came time to complete the sale he nearly ghosted us. We were left wondering throughout the whole process because he wasn't responding to calls/e-mails in a timely fashion. Then we discovered close to completion that he erroneously had our completion date listed as 2 weeks later than it actually was, unfortunately resulting in a mad scramble at the 11th hour to complete on time. We ended up completing the sale and just in time but not without lots of stress. While Omar may have been our go to mortgage broker in the past, he did drop the ball on this deal.
