Great little campground to stay. Not too much for kids and hiway noise may bother some. Can hear a train way off in the distance.

I've never camped here, I could suggest much better spots not right by the highway, but it's a chill spot to stop for the day or just a quick stop before heading west on highway 3.

This campground was gross, it looked nice while driving up but after paying and really looking at it
.yuck. There was garbage all over the campsite as well as glass I was picking up so my kids wouldn’t step on it, the toilets were disgusting, and the smell from them was wafting into our campsite across the park. The hosts dogs barked anytime anyone walked by as well which was kind of annoying. All in all I’ve stayed at much better cleaner campsites then this one and would never go back. Yuck

December 19th - Entire rest area/campground is closed to vehicles (Parked at gate, short hike in to watch sheets of ice float down river & to enjoy sights, sounds of ice).

Beautiful recreational site! Nice campsites and decent fire pits. Bring your own firewood! Awfully close to the highway but we made due. It's not a terribly busy highway, the semi traffic is just loud when you're tenting in the site right next to the highway.

April 2024 - campground was open and mostly empty. $22 self registration. We were passing through on our way to Alaska from the Lower 48 and looking for a cheap place to camp near the road. Campground is directly beside the highway, but the noise didn’t bother us while we slept and proximity to highway was a bonus for us anyway. Toilets were not the cleanest, but not totally disgusting. Had some great horned owls in the trees near us, but otherwise didn’t see any wildlife. I give 4/5 stars because it was convenient and safe, but wouldn’t camp there for fun necessarily.

Park manager has large dogs that wouldn't stop barking. We're planning to spend night but packed up and left after couple hours of barking

Nice park, decent facilities, awesome caretaker.

Just keep your belongings secure -- some people stole the panniers off my bike while I was asleep in my tent at 6:30 in the morning.
