My wife, five-month-old daughter, and I had an absolutely delightful stay at the Spruce Cabin. The hosts were very considerate in stocking the cabin with helpful gear for the baby. We enjoyed several hikes and a day of bouldering at Gold Mine. We look forward to coming back in the fall!

We recently stayed at this charming resort and we were so happy with the entire experience. Two nights in this northern Ontario spring weather but we felt all the cozy vibes. The stunning views alone make it worth the visit—waking up to peaceful scenery was so nice. The cabin was impeccably clean, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. It has everything you need to cook and sleep comforably. We also appreciated how quiet it was, perfect for unwinding and escaping the hustle of daily life. Our cabin was the perfect fit for 2. Cozy, warm, and modern, with a touch of rustic history. The location is fantastic, offering both convenience and a sense of seclusion. If you're looking for a cozy getaway, this place is a gem!

We booked Northern Skies Resort for our Bachelor/ Bachelorette party in March 2024 for May Long 2025, expecting a fun getaway to go bass fishing, play games and enjoy quality time together as a group. This consisted of a 6-hour drive for all of us travelling. However, our experience was marred by noise restrictions and frequent text messages from the owner asking us to keep quiet, even when we were just chatting within our camping property. We remained respectful and apologized promptly.

Despite our efforts to be considerate, we received daily reminders about noise levels at approximately 7- 7:30pm (we were under the impression that quiet time was 11pm), which impacted our celebration. We were surprised to learn the day of check in that our neighbour had requested peace and quiet, given our cabins were adjacent and so close together, and that we booked over a year in advance.

The first impression with the resort itself was how stunning it was. The cabins were perfect, some rustic and unique. One of our three rented cabins had issues with heat and power, but we didn't complain about that. What disappointed us was the emphasis on pleasing one neighbour’s expectations over our group's experience.

While the resort itself is stunning, has great fishing opportunities, the ability to utilize kayaks/canoes, and the sauna, we felt restricted by the noise policies during the daytime and early evening. We did have friendly encounters with Fred and Robin, and they are good people. The groundskeepers were phenomenal and understanding.

What upset us was that we made it clear in booking over a year ago that it was for a Bachelor/ Bachelorette weekend. Ultimately prioritizing one person's experience over our group was disappointing as we were worried that we were being too loud even while we were talking and connecting amongst each other. We still managed to have a great time because we can make the most of any situation, but this is something to consider.

If you're looking for a quiet retreat, Northern Skies might be suitable. However, for groups or celebrations, it might not be the best fit due to the strict noise rules. After we left the resort, we were informed of our neighbours review and how they refunded them, which felt distasteful.

Our Christmas stay at Northern Skies Resort was an unforgettable experience. The nicest host welcomed us warmly, ensuring everything was perfectly in place. The stunning three-bedroom cabin, was a haven of cleanliness and comfort, complete with all necessities from kitchenware to cozy bedding.
The host’s thoughtfulness was evident in every detail and the serene lake view added a tranquil beauty to our stay, particularly enjoyable from the deck - a highlight of our long journey from Toronto.
The festive decorations were dazzling yet tasteful, enhancing the Christmas spirit. The cabin's design, with its high-ceilinged living room and spacious bedrooms, provided both comfort and convenience, evidenced by the stable wifi, 24hr hot water and the thoughtful placement of numerous electrical outlets.
Their detailed guidebook offered invaluable information about local shops and scenic spots. This level of attention to detail and care in hosting was truly remarkable, making our stay a true treasure of memories. Highly recommend for an exceptional getaway experience!

We have stayed at Kegos several times. The owners are wonderful! They are very nice and helpful! This year we even brought our nieces to come and experience the beauty of Thessalon. The cabins are perfectly set up if you book more than one. There is a great spot for the kids to swim or take the paddle boat or one of the canoes and kayaks out on the lake. Great fishing, too! Be sure to remember to bring towels. And maybe some favorite games. The kids are not even missing internet for the week - ages 9-19.

Really enjoyed the comfortable, clean, cozy cottage # 6. Waterfront View. Sandy beach a few steps away. Pet friendly at no extra charge. Hot shower and toilet inside the cabin.||Hosts Gillian and Mike were absolutely delightful, with lots of thoughtful touches throughout the cabin. One of the top places I've stayed this summer. Available for booking through Airbnb.

We have been renting a cottage at this location for 5 years now. The owners are fantastic and very friendly. The cottages are somewhat rustic, but very clean a nd well accommodated. Some away from the beach offer lots of privacy. If you have small kids get one near the beach. Very quiet tranquil location. No tv's and one shared for firepit for all cottages. Clean lake with a beach for swimming. Boat rentals and canoe and paddleboats for use for free. Hiking in the area with great views. All cooking and kitchen utensils are stocked in each kitchen. Clean linens included. Just bring your own towels.
