I highly recommend visiting Metis crossing. My partner and I spent this past Valentine’s Day there, we stayed in the sky watching dome, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond for us to ensure we had the best stay. The food was delicious. We are so excited to visit again.

We stayed in one of the sky domes with the plexi ceiling to see the stars and aurora. Excellent! Rinaldo mixes lovely cocktails, the bison burger and breakfast are fabulous, and the property is close enough to Edmonton to reach easily but far enough to get away from it all. When we were there, there was about a foot and a half of snow, no wind, and everything was quiet. We enjoyed grabbing a drink, playing board games and Yahtzee next to the fire, and catching a hockey game in the upstairs lounge area in the lodge. Also enjoyed the 4x4 tour to see three different types of bison, elk, and the French draft horses. Loved walking along the frozen river. Can't wait to return.

It was worth the over an hour drive in the fog. Everything was covered with hoarfrost and the wonderful fireplace felt warm inside. All the staff were extremely friendly making you feel welcome. And the food was fantastic.

Métis Crossing is such a breathtakingly beautiful and serene place. Right on my arrival to the location, it felt like coming home. I had a single king room, which was very clean and cozy. I loved the small touches to make it homey like the patchwork quilt on the bed and barn door for a bathroom door. The staff have been very kind and professional as well as incredibly helpful when needed.

If I could give more stars I would!
We stayed in the domes to do some stargazing and I can't recommend it enough. The domes have everything you could want to get comfy and look at the night sky. We also had the privilege of doing a couple of experiences offered ("Meet the Metis" and the Wildlife Tour") which were both wonderful. The guides are knowledgeable and full of stories about the land, animals, plants and everything in between. All of the staff truly make the experience though, you feel like you're leaving with friends. If you made it to this review you are clearly thinking about making the trip and my advice is to book it ASAP!

Six of the seven star dorms were rented for our family reunion and 65th birthday!

The entire process of booking was very personable as I had very unique needs considering one of my child is special needs. We had all ages from one years old to 65!! The ladies were extremely patient with me and helpful the entire way from beginning to end.

Our stay included an amazing breakfast buffet, Hats off to the Cheffs!

We toured the grounds where we even found two of our ancestors names on the memorial, There’s a lovely little park and a museum. My nieces and nephews enjoyed rolling down a hill like they were kids again!!

Absolutely gorgeous in the fall!! Previously, this summer, we were able to take a wildlife tour as well, Unbelievable!! We got to see a huge white elk stag, the most beautiful horses you could see, and the amount of white plains Buffalo was thrilling.

Thank you to everyone at Metis Crossing for accommodating such a large group of us and all the special attention and little details really helped to make an awesome experience.

Sincerely : the Pallister Crew

1 star for the food being filling and 1 for the view.
This lodge does not respect reservations, or perhaps they don't want group reservations of elderly in wheelchairs. 🤷‍♀️
I arrived with a group of LTC residents to the lodge at 11:24am. for our 11:30 reservation, and it took about 10 minutes to unload them and get them seated in the restaurant. Once settled, in about 10 minutes, the wait staff had taken our order. All was well... until it wasn't. The eldery residents we had brought out for lunch waited OVER AN HOUR for their food. Meanwhile, we learned the lodge CEO was seated behind us (after we had arrived), and her party was served before us. After we received our meal and her party left, she proceeded to approach us and try to mitigate our frustrations. She suggested we make a reservation NEXT TIME, which we had done already for the current visit. She then suggested we order our food ahead NEXT TIME. So we asked how do we do that and she couldn't answer that on the spot, fine. We then asked her if there was a takeaway menu or a menu online, and NO there is not.
Needless to say, there will be NO NEXT TIME because the kicker to this story is that this current visit was the next time. A few weeks before, staff had taken the same size group out to this restaurant, and the same long wait occurred, but nothing was addressed.
We would have loved to continue to take our residents here because of the close proximity to our facility. However, being made to feel our long wait was our fault🤬, there will be no further outings here.
