Beautiful, quiet and peaceful city to live in. I have been here almost 6 years and still love it. I now own a house here and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else for the cost of living/and quietness.

I was there with another person. We were setting up Fair Entry for our utilities. While he was at the desk speaking with the attendant, I thought I would take a look at the art displays they have under glass cases set up throughout the main floor. I was looking down the hallway through the closed doors which has beautiful clay artwork and plants. I was told by the security staff I wasn't allowed to do that. There is a sign that says stop infront of the big double doors. I asked if I wasn't allowed to stand where I was about 10 feet from the doors and look through the glass partition. He said no. So I moved on to one of the displays beside the stairs and another security staff approached and told me I wasn't allowed to do that. I asked why are there displays if I can't be allowed to observe them. He said that I wasn't allowed to be in there if I wasn't doing business. I explained that I was but only one person needed to be at the desk with the attendant. He then told me the place was under construction. I asked him what construction I hadn't seen any signs stating the City Hall was undergoing construction. So I stepped about 5 feet to my purse, my shoulder bag and Pat's briefcase which was all at the table under the stairs out of the way from anyone to trip or be in the way. So when Patrick was finished at the desk, he sat down and put his paperwork in his briefcase all while the security staff watched us. It was a very uncomfortable situation as I do feel singled out. If the City Hall doesn't want patrons to take in the displays they thoughtfully set up, then they should remove them, they should have signs up stating that only one person per household can enter, and if the City Hall is undergoing construction then that should be posted before each entrance so all are aware that if they walk about to view the displays of Medicine Hat's heritage they will be approached by all the security staff and made to feel that City Hall isn't a Fair Entry establishment nor an inclusive environment. We are going through a time in our lives where many folks are struggling with feelings of belonging, lack of trust, and needing a community of inclusion and barrier free. I hadn't done anything incorrect at City Hall but I was singled out. That has to stop.

A beautiful city that could be totally awesome if the 'woke' to sleep mayor and 'council' stops destroying streets with construction EVERYWHERE in preparation for a much worse destruction if she continues to make this into a 5 minute city!!!
...
Also please don't have the park washrooms closed WAY too early in the fall! And...
Put the traffic lights on a timer! Being on sensor all the time is asinine - especially during rush hour. Because of that this is the worst city I've ever driven in because of how the streets are laid out and the stupidity of the traffic lights. Otherwise the city is awesome with beautiful parks and trails! 🙂

I love medicine hat city. I moved here with a job with the hope of getting enrolled into their rural renewal stream program a year ago which was introduced in last year January. From that point on they have just wasted mine and others time. They just keep pushing the starting date. I would've gotten my papers and everything if I chose another city/town other than medicine hat. At this point I feel like I got scammed by city hall. I have less than a year left on my work permit. Now I'm planning to move to a different town. Sad thing is this is a great city with even greater potential. But if the city hall management is like this, then it is hopeless for the city to grow.

Thank you very much for taking care of that stuck horn at the CPR rail yards! 🙂
This is a beautiful and energetic city. I love it! However, could you please name the streets in the city properly because navigating around here is certainly frustrating and wastes time when one inevitably gets turned around trying to figure out where to go. It's confusing enough that the streets are laid out like a maze. But the naming of the streets is redundant to say the least. This problem is easily resolved with a little money invested to rename the streets in a sensible way. Proper naming of the streets will go a long way to attracting even more to this vibrant and magical city For example, please don't use the same name(s) in an entire section of city for street naming. If there is a totally different bay, street, road etc give it a Totally different name instead of having them all nearly sounding the same. Plus, there are too many sections of the city where you have a street name split apart entirely and are not even connected in the least. Please fix this up when possible. Of all the wonderful things about the city let's not let a correctable redundancy impair that. Thank you for understanding and incorporating plans to amend this reputation for having the worst streets in Canada! Lol

BUT PUT SAND ON ICE SO YOU'RE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR TOO MANY ACCIDENTS

Moved here 1 year ago as Medicine Hat joined the Rural Renewal Immigration Steam to help foreign full-time workers get Permanent Residency. They keep adding 3 months to the start date of this program and kept me with FALSE HOPE. They NEVER started this program and scammed us. This Rural Renewal scam wasted 1 year of my limited work-permit time. Inconsiderate and heartless people of Medicine Hat government just wanted some cheap labor then kick us out. I might get deported now as my work permit time is running out 🙁

Not impressed. These women need to find their power trip somewhere that’s not their own job. Not appropriate.
