We have been long time customers of this agency for our home insurance.
We rec'd a renewal this year that increased our premiums by 50% plus. We are claims free for a number of years. We rec'd no contact from the agency staff to discuss. When we called them to query they said they couldn't explore other options until 30 days from end of current coverage.
We had to call them back within that time frame, no call from them, and were told that they had no other options that were more reasonably priced.
So we went to our auto insurance company and rec'd better cover for materially less cost.
Mcfarlane staff contacted us once our renewal premium was over due. They told us that if we don't complete a cancellation notice it would affect our credit rating.
No interest on their part as to why they've lost the business.
Business must be good.
We would not recommend this agency in any way.
I think the owners need to review their customer service standards.

We have been purchasing our insurance needs here for over 20 years. In that time we have needed coverage for our construction company and our personal home and vehicles. Lynn W. is our personal agent and she goes well out of her way to ensure we are properly covered and she also annually compares insurance providers quotes to keep the most cost effective program in our plans. I can't say enough about how responsive and professional she is. On our business side McFarlane has been very flexible to provide liability coverages for specific contracts requirements as well as coverage our our fleet. I can verify that if you are looking for honest ,reliable, responsive and quality insurance providers then McFarlane is our choice.

I do not agree with the negative comment left by JS. I have been a client with this company for as long as I can remember and I have had nothing but phenomenal service. Even when I have given a very short timeline to get things completed Lynn Williams has come through with flying colours. There has been an error or miscommunication and Lynn has done her very best to make it right.

We are all human and we all make mistakes and when it happens they have owned up to them and done everything in their power to make it right. In my opinion they go above and beyond the call of duty. When it is busy they communicate that they are busy.

I would not hesitate to recommend these guys to anybody.

I will never go back here. There’s a huge disconnect between them and the insurance companies, and it’s a challenge just to speak to someone. Whenever I call them, my now ex-broker was constantly away from her desk, and they were unwilling to let me speak with anyone else. On top of that, I’ve now been waiting for a refund on a cancelled policy. I was told it would be refunded 6 days ago, and now when I call them, they have no clue what’s going on. The incompetency here is a joke.

UPDATE: They are now claiming that the company doesn’t owe me any money. Considering I was charged for a month I wasn’t covered for, that’s incorrect. So after being told from the beginning I would get a refund for that month, they suddenly decided not to give me one. Seriously, nobody use these guys, what a joke.

When my broker of 20 yrs retired in Calgary I decided
when my auto insurance came up , I would shop closer
to home , Mcfarlane Agencies was suggested and Amanda
was the broker to see. I was looking at a hefty premium raise,
But Amanda very professional was able to set things right.
