Wat een geweldige ervaring! We hebben veel orka's, bultruggen, zeeleeuwen, otters en een paartje Amerikaanse zeearenden gezien. Dit alles onder de goede begeleiding van kapitein Bill Mackay en zeebiologe Marieke, die heel veel wist te vertrekken over de dieren. Het was een hoogtepunt tijdens onze (nog lopende) wereldreis! Een echte aanrader voor wie kennis wil maken met de prachtige natuur op Vancouver Island.

Unsere Walbeobachtungstour war absolut fantastisch! Die Mackay Familie war äußerst freundlich, sachkundig und hat uns viele spannende Informationen über Wale und andere Meeresbewohner gegeben.
Wir hatten das große Glück, mehrere Wale, Orcas, Delfine, Seeotter, Seelöwen und Weißkopfadler aus nächster Nähe zu sehen.

Die Crew war sehr professionell und respektvoll gegenüber den Tieren, was uns ein gutes Gefühl gegeben hat.
Sie kennen Ihre Wale dort und sind mit vollem Herzen dabei.

Die Boote waren komfortabel und boten eine großartige Sicht auf das Wasser.

Diese Tour war ein unvergessliches Erlebnis und ich würde es jedem empfehlen, der die Schönheit der Natur und diese majestätischen Tiere hautnah erleben möchte, abseits vom Trubel.

Went on a whale watching trip yesterday - although we have seen wheels in the past; it’s something you have to do on the West Coast!

We saw Orca whales, Minke Whales, Humpbacks, seals, Sea Lions, Eagles, Otters and porpoises….. Of course it would always be nice to be closer however we respect shuffle Animals And distancing!

Although it was raining on and off the scenery is always breathtaking and the company fantastic.

The staff are super knowledgeable, open to answering questions and talking about what they know.

I highly recommend it, bring some snacks and drinks and enjoy the ride!

Mackay Whale Watching did an excellent job we saw so much wildlife. The guide on our boat said we saw 8 orca pods. We also saw Bald Eagle, Dall Porpoises, Humbacks and Sea Otters. The Orcas were extremely active back flip spy hops, and active swimming . It was a fantastic tour.

Had the pleasure of meeting Bill and his Deckhand when they stepped in to help BC Ferries shuttle foot passengers to Alert Bay. They were so friendly and welcoming on their safe and sturdy vessel. Even stoped to point out sea otters on our way back even tho it was just a taxi service! These two went above and beyond. Thank you! Will be coming aboard for a whale watching trip in the future.

Marieke and Captain Bill were amazing, so knowledgeable and fun! We saw sea otters, stellar sea lions, humpback whales, an eagle and orcas! Thanks to MacKay Whale Watching, we learned so much about all the marine life we saw and also heard the orcas on the hydrophone. This was definitely my best experience whale watching and I can’t wait to go back! Such a perfect day on the water!

Captain Bill Mackay is a seasoned veteran of these waters and a naturalist. On our tour we say orcas, humpbacks, sea lions and dolphins. Though I had some reluctance about going on a whale watching tour, I felt we always stayed respectful of these beautiful creatures and we learned a lot about them from Captain Bill's knowledge and decades of experience. I gained a deeper appreciation and love for the orcas and the Salish Sea after this tour. Highly recommended!
