Laverty Falls is such a pretty place to visit and has many scenic little waterfalls throughout the trailhead that you can take pictures at.

However, this trail has to be the most difficult trail of all the trails I’ve ever done. The hike itself must have been anywhere from 5-7 km and even more painful on a hot day.

The trail itself isn’t that bad, but the level of elevation and many obstacles in the trail means that as you get further into the trail, you have to be more vigilant.

This trail is definitely not for the faint of heart and definitely requires some preparation beforehand. So here are some of my hard lessons learnt from walking the Laverty Falls Trailhead:

- I would definitely recommend wearing a swimsuit underneath your clothes and doing the hike. There are plenty of area at the bottom of the falls and at the top where you could swim. The water is cold, but at a certain point, it is a welcome change of pace from the trail itself.

- If nothing else, proper hiking shoes and bring at least one hiking stick. I’ve never felt the need for a hiking stick with most of my other trails, but this type of trail is definitely one where you could use the extra support, especially if you are older.

- Travel light! Whatever you are taking into the trail will be with you for the next 2-3 hours. Take only what you need and can handle carrying for that long.

- Spray some bug spray (or like a lot) before hiking. I cannot stress exactly how many mosquitoes, flies and all sorts of other insects and bugs will bother you on this trail. Spray liberally and wear long sleeved clothing if you can.

All in all, this trail is not for the faint of heart, but definitely leaves you with a sense of accomplishment at the end. The waterfall is quite nice and the views are unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It is worth it if you have the stamina to pull it off and may the odds be ever in your favour with this one.

A great spot for an easy and refreshing hike! The trail is about 5 km round trip—perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a relaxed hike through nature. The best part? You can actually take a dip in the waterfall at the end and just chill there for a while. Peaceful, scenic, and fun!

The falls are a 5, the walk is maybe a 3.5.

If you like roots - this trails has them. Rocks? Got them too! The trail is a meandering descent down a hill, which means you meander yourself right back up again. Don't get me wrong I like a walk in the woods but that was all the walk was.

The waterfall is absolutely a highlight though! Beautiful! Makes the walk worth it!!!

We did this with our 1 year old in an Osprey hiking carrier and we did see another child in a carrier as well. Additionally it looked like all ages were out on this walk today!

Parking lot is large and did not fill up when we were here late morning/early afternoon

Laverty falls today was amazingly full and beautiful! We went there and get impressed, the hiking may last for 1hour it’s almost 3 kilometers walking to get the waterfall, but it was well worth

Terrifyingly rugged roads and gravel hellscapes can make you question your sanity behind the wheel — and wreak havoc on your tires and undercarriage.

Who knew a “scenic route” could double as a chiropractic test? đŸ˜©

One of my favourite hikes in Fundy. The Moosehorne - Laverty loop is the best! Great places to swim everywhere!

Great hike. Long slow decent all the way to falls. That means long slow ascent on the way out. Not hard by any means but could be taxing on small children and elderly. Best part of these curtain like falls is the swimming hole below them. Great way to cool off when u arrive on a hot day.
