Yesterday (2025-03-18), I visited Innisfil City Hall to address an issue concerning roadwork in front of my residence. Upon arrival, I engaged with a staff member at the information desk who identified herself as Kimberly Jennet (though her name tag was inverted, precluding verification). I endeavored to elucidate my concern, but due to my accented English, she encountered difficulty in comprehension. While I am a Canadian citizen with adequate English proficiency for self-expression, albeit not flawless, the staff member appeared disinclined to extend the courtesy of attentive listening, manifesting behavior that I perceived as discriminatory. It is disheartening to encounter such condescending attitudes. Having resided in Canada for a decade, I have become adept at discerning this form of treatment.
The staff member dismissed my concerns, suggesting I procure the services of an interpreter or contact a telephone number she provided. Upon my request to engage with another official or a manager, she asserted that she was the sole staff member available. Upon further insistence, she maintained her position. Subsequently, I requested that she inscribe her name on the card she had furnished. After a moment of hesitation, she consulted with an individual within the premises and then provided a card bearing a name and telephone number, reiterating that I should establish contact. This sequence of events unequivocally indicated that she had, in fact, comprehended my concerns.
It is regrettable that individuals of this disposition persist in treating newcomers with such disdain, overtly displaying their reluctance to embrace them. I question the rationale behind employing an individual with this demeanor at an information desk. It is unacceptable for individuals to be subjected to discrimination on the basis of their accent. The city hall should uphold an environment of respect and inclusivity for all citizens. It is a matter of concern whether this staff member's behavior is isolated or indicative of a broader pattern. I am interested in understanding what measures will be implemented to prevent the recurrence of such incidents

I love this city, we just moved looking for a better place to live. I am a single mother and I would love to feel safer. On Monday I was at the beach with my son. You can notice in the video how scared he was. I asked politely a group of people to stop smoking kind of smoke in front of kids. In my eyes it’s not right thing to do in a public place full of kids. It’s not the first time I asked someone because there’s always someone smoking without any control.This group of people didn’t care. Instead, they started making fun of me and my “race” saying they are making something legal and I was the illegal for being brown. They threatened me with calling the police and that I will go to jail and my brown kid as well. I am making this comment because I feel the beaches and public places need more control and people need more information about what is allowed or not to do in public places.

Every issue is getting managed upside down.
Nothing works without mistakes.
The plows usually start around 2-3 pm, not in the morning, like they are waiting for the cars to do some of the plow’s work and pack the snow on the streets.
The traffic lights are a joke, the timing for secondary to main streets lasts longer then other way around.
The management of this town is a Disaster.

Imagine making the speed limit on innisfil Beach road 40km/hr and actually expecting anyone to adhere to such an egregiously low limit. Just an excuse to legally rob the middle class with speeding tickets. 1 resident probably complained and the town bent over backwards for them.
