I had a very disappointing experience with this property management company. I rented an apartment for almost a year and a half. After renewing my lease, I began experiencing serious harassment from a neighbor. She would scream in her apartment, bang on the walls, follow me in the hallway, and even leave multiple aggressive notes accusing me of being a bad neighbor – despite the fact that I was following all the rules. This behavior made me feel unsafe, especially when my husband was away for work for weeks at a time.

I reported these incidents to my landlord, Janess, multiple times, asking to be relocated to another apartment within the same housing complex (which consists of three identical buildings). Each time, my requests were denied. Despite the obvious harassment and my concerns for my safety, I was repeatedly told there were no available units. However, I later discovered that apartments were being listed as available – including one in a neighboring building – while I was still asking to move. When I inquired about this specific listing, I was told it was “not actually available” – a confusing and frustrating response.

Eventually, after six months of enduring this unbearable situation, my husband and I decided to terminate the lease early. I moved out 15 days before the end of the month. According to my lease agreement, the only penalty for early termination was the forfeiture of my damage deposit. However, when the time came to settle the account, I was charged an additional month’s rent – on top of losing my damage deposit – because they claimed I did not provide proper notice.

To make matters worse, I was also charged an outrageous $420 cleaning fee for my studio apartment. Charging for 15 hours of cleaning for a small studio is excessive and unreasonable. Additionally, I had provided a key deposit to ensure the return of all keys, which I did in perfect condition, yet there was no mention of refunding this deposit.

Throughout this entire process, my concerns were ignored, and the lack of transparency and compassion from the management team was incredibly disappointing. I cannot recommend this property management company to anyone who values fair treatment and a safe living environment. If you are considering renting from them, be aware of how little they will support you if issues arise – even serious concerns about safety and harassment.

I've been renting through hearthstone for almost 2 months now with no issues. Stephanie is my leasing agent. She was very patient with me through the whole process. I had bug her into the late evening needing help with the application. she was very punctual. I am 58 years old and this was my first time renting as I sold my acreage. With this being said I think hearthstone could make the application process a little bit easier. I understand things are changing and everything is done online. I miss the days when you say across a desk from someone .

five months now. Our agent is Stephanie. She is super amazing. From arranging viewing, to moving in, Stephanie was awesome. As new immigrants, she took her time to help us make informed decision on and setting up the electricity, gas and community utilities accounts.. Heartstone's maintenance guys are also super good..

I have lived at Whaldon Place, for 10, plus years.
For the last 4 years, I've had the privilege of having : Jenness Hanvahan, as our Residential Property Manager. Without sounding, like I am over emphasizing about Jenness, I can assure you, she deserves all the credit, she can receive.
Before she came on, I was considering moving out, with my daughter, due to security issues with mail, people camping out in the building, and a building that was just plain run down, ect. Any issues or complaints, I did have, were ignored or never addressed. Feeling very frustrated, I was not going to re-new my lease.
Then along came: Jenness & Perry (Maintenance).
Since then, not only have renovations been done to the building, new paint throughout, new carpet, fobs, cleaners for the building, Extra enhanced security, keeping on top of cleanliness, and keeping a watchful eye on tenants, routine inspections, lawn maintenance, sidewalks cleared at ALL times, I now feel COMPLETELY safe for my daughter & I. Also for My elderly Mother & Aunt that also live in another unit, in the building. Also addressing ANY issues or concerns IMMEDIATELY, a place we are happy to call home.
Jenness & Perry are more than just a property manager/ maintenance. They treat us like, not just as tenants, but as a friend.
She works, in a speedy fashion, she works tirelessly, and follows through, until the job is done, the correct way. Leaving a person to feel completely happy and satisfied.
She runs a "tight ship", with nothing but positive results.
They are both present, on a daily basis, making a person feel even more secure.
So I can happily say, I will be re-newing my lease, and will continue to do so, as long as she is here.
I HIGHLY recommend renting from Jenness at Hearthstone.
They are both, beautiful people, inside and out and truly are a blessing!

When having to move now my lease was up, and the owner wants to sell my suite, I was in contact with Janness at Hearthstone,who showed me a couple of rental options. Very pleasant to deal with, showed me the various features,explained the financial outlay. Couldn’t ask for better service, hope to continue to work with her as I haven’t made up my mind yet.

I've been renting from Jenness for a couple of years now, and I just want to say she’s an outstanding property manager. Whenever any issues come up, she handles them promptly and efficiently.

With the recent change in management companies, everything transitioned smoothly, and I later learned that Jenness joined the new company and is still managing my property, which is fantastic!
