Horrible communication. Wrong dates provided for our tour. Lost all our paperwork multiple times. Didn’t get our visa for Vietnam before we left. Had to apply on our own. Paid triple the cost. Didn’t provide any extra excursion options that were promised. Transportation from cruise to hotel never showed up. Had to book own hotel room in Thailand as had forgotten to book it for us. Buyer beware. Would never use again. Harold Smith Travel is no longer an agency. Is run by Harold Smith out of his home in Halifax. The reason to use a travel agent is to take away the planning and the stress. Harold Smith Travel made the stress way worse!!!!

We recently booked a Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia tour with this agency. Two days before departure, a meeting was held between Harold and the five couples going on the trip in order to get all of the documents we would need for our travels. Since Harold Smith Travel does not actually have any physical location, the meeting was in a borrowed office. Harold did not have complete documents for 4 of the 5 couples. Five people were missing required Visas for Vietnam, some plane tickets were missing and one couple had their names spelled wrong on one of their flight tickets. Some travel vouchers were missing and one couple had no hotel reservation for Bangkok. Harold said that he must have forgotten some things but they were on his computer which he didn’t have with him. They were back at his home in Nova Scotia. We were all a little annoyed to say the least. In the next 2 days when Harold got home most documents were sent to us but the visas were still a problem. That was eventually worked out but it cost an extra $180 for each of the 5 visas over and above the original cost. The actual tour companies that we travelled with were excellent but I would not recommend using this agent, he is well past his ‘best before’ date.

Beware. There is no longer an office at the listed address. Just came back from a Harold Smith tour in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. The person representing Harold Smith made many mistakes, omissions, and was very disorganized. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from this person who is not a competent travel agent

My wife and I just came back from a Cambodia/Vietnam trip which included a Mekong River Cruise.
Nothing but good things to say about the small group, Harold’s choice of hotels and organization.
Great trip, recommend highly!
