On August 25 I went to Minden first where they wouldn’t even look at me and sent me to Haliburton hospital. I had slipped while hiking and felt I broke my foot. Haliburton got X-rays, after hours of waiting the Dr came to me and said it’s just a sprain go home. I asked if I need a wrap nope, I asked about pain meds nope, okay so I left and went back to the cottage. The next day my family Dr called me. Dr-soooooo hows it going. Me- okay a little sore, I’m laid up on the outside couch. I said it’s weird it’s only a sprain I can’t even put any pressure on it. Dr- who told you it’s a sprain? You have two breaks that we can see and maybe more. They didn’t give you a boot or anything. She was furious and wanted me to get back to a hospital asap. Unfortunately by this time my friends had been drinking (vacation at a cottage) so I used a kitchen chair as a walker tequila for pain and we packed up early and went home the next day.
When I got to my destination I went straight to the hospital where they took more X-rays gave me a disc with them on it. Found out I had three breaks. Got a boot. Pain meds. And a Drs note for work.
Haliburton Dr you had no idea what you were doing. And are lucky I didn’t beef up with more damage and that my family Dr is amazing

On Saturday, July 5, I took my 14 year-old grandson into Haliburton Hospital because of some severe pain in his groin. We were seen immediately even though there was some people waiting in the waiting room and a doctor came to us immediately. Both the intern doctor and doctor examined my grandson and then ordered an ultrasound immediately. Their service, understanding, privacy for a 14-year-old boy was extremely professional while I remained in the room with him. We were then fortunate enough that there was a cancellation this morning for us to go for another ultrasound on his kidneys and bladder. We were taken ahead of a few people sitting in triage, but that’s because they were concerned of the severity of the pain and where the pain was.
In closing their service, care, professionalism, and privacy were outstanding. I would like to thank all of the staff, nurses and doctors for taking excellent care of my grandson.

Went into the HALIBURTON ER at 2:30am to check out my busted up left big toe. Nurse Donna was super nice while checking me in, she got me into a room within 10 minutes. DR Ali Akbar saw me after 2 hours & 30 minutes, he took great care of me along with the team of Nurses, Nurse Trinity and the 2 others were great. Awesome Experience. I went in with a large/ deep cut on my finger, even though I was bleeding no one even asked me anything for an hour. I left and went to another ER, as my bandages were soaked. I’ve read the reviews so I’m not the odd person with this issue.

Have been to this hospital many times and don't have a single negative thing to say. Have been for back injury, pregnancy sickness, for my daughter a few times and for my husband. It's the best hospital we have ever been too.

A family member had a life threatening condition and was given absolutely top notch care. Dr was smart, direct and compassionate. Rooms were clean and nurses were courteous. Tremendously appreciative of the incredible care for my loved one.

We took my Father in Law to Emergency at Haliburton Hospital last Thursday with signs of a stroke ... although the triage took a bit, once in the ER the staff and attending Dr.s were incredibly thorough, communicative and listened to what had transpired. Although all hospitals in this province suffer from bed shortages and hallway medicine, this hospital and its staff (shout out to Dr. Walton) were outstanding!!! Compared to our hospital in Newmarket, where if you survive the ER you might have a fighting chance to make it ... Haliburton Hospital was top notch! A big thank you to the staff for coming up with what appears to be the correct diagnosis and treatment and not dumping him out on the curb but making sure he is recovering properly. Thank you!
