I visited to change ownership of my 92 year old dad's car to myself. I met with Ruth and explained that I wanted to get all of my info before I brought my dad in and she was so helpful. She prepared any paperwork she could and I was lined up for a very short wait as it turned out. I saw Taylor who was very helpful. I needed more documentation and Taylor was very thorough. She offered that when I returned on Tuesday ask Ruth to triage me with her. I returned on Tuesday with my mom and dad. My mom fell in front of the building and Don the security guard ran out with a wheelchair. He was beyond helpful and kind. An employee, Sue from the Ministry of Environment was an angel to hold my mom's hand and stay with us. I proceeded to meet with Ruth who was again helpful and professional. She arranged for me to see Taylor who was again so friendly and professional. I also saw Debbie who was friendly and professional. What a great place. When we left, Don walked us out. Thank you all so much.

The Most Secret Café in Peterborough - Garden Street Café.

This is a self-serve café inside this Service Ontario building which is a huge building. You see this Café right when you enter to the left. There's no worker there as you pay on the kiosk machine yourself. A lot of options such as candy, sports drinks, chips, cookies, subs, Jamaican Patties, coffee, noodles too, granola bars, etc. I just love how random this place is. This is the first self-serve spot I've ever been to & I love it. It's like a weak version of the Japanese self-serve noodle store. It's like that.

Between the university and this building - they have the best people in Peterborough. The city and downtown economy would be far different without you - thank you for making Peterborough a better place to live and work.

Absolute joke of an organization, they seriously need to hire new people there who actually care about our natural resources. Try calling them or talking to someone face to face, they actively avoid talking to you on the phone or face to face. If someone in charge reads this please investigate this districts office, nobody who works here cares, security is also very rude. Genuinely haven’t had as bad of an experience dealing with anyone in my entire life than these people. Please hire people who actually care, and protect our resources.

You people need to do something you have people that are literally slaughtering the salmon down at the Oshawa Creek no rules no regulations people are doing what they want right now!

I have seen people with three pronged hooks I have seen salmon with lures attached to them still free, I have seen people in the water trying to grab the salmon to catch them!

You guys should be going up and down the creek asking for licenses and seeing if people are legitimately fishing these fish!

Clearly you are letting everybody do what they want depleting natural resources.

DEVASTATING NEWS FOR MALLY’S

Dear Members;

Yesterday, our family was ambushed by the Ministry of Natural Resources. They arrived with a search warrant alleging regulatory offences. Their presence and display of force, vehicles, and aerial support was extreme and what I can only describe as something you'd see on TV. We're still not sure if this is all just a bad dream.

They immediately seized our phones (except our daughter's) and staff were told to leave the property. Our family was closely monitored by guards, while we watched in horror, the raccoons crying and struggling as they were hauled out of the outdoor enclosures and care cages.They left with all of the raccoons, whom we love and care for deeply. They were put in a small convoy, loaded upright, in live traps into the back of open pickup truck beds, where this convoy left at the end of the day. The raccoons had no access to water all day. It was an all day event. We do not know where they took them, only that they were allegedly going to be assessed.

Our daughters and ourselves were, and still remain, traumatized, breaking down in tears several times throughout the event that has unfolded. Witnessing the unethical handling of the animals we loved so much and fought tirelessly to save, we remain in a state of post-traumatuc stress.

The MNRF have not laid any charges, at least not yet, and their Staff Sergeant advised, after questioning him, that they have not revoked our authorization as wildlife custodians. As we understand, their investigation is ongoing.

The OPP also showed up at the end of the event to ensure we were not experiencing suicidal thoughts.

The Ministry advised they will be back in touch. We asked how, if they had our phones, so they advised they would contact our daughter.

We have limited communications at the moment and our day job business has been halted as well, due to not being able to communicate or find contacts or schedules we need in order to operate.

We have always been transparent with the community. So this is all we know and what we experienced without warning. Not sure what else to say today. Words cannot express how we are feeling in this moment.

Our family will follow up as soon as we know more, just praying the raccoons will come home soon as well.

Your recent raid on Mally's - this seems to be so over the top. What about a visit and inspection first prior to acting like bunch of mercenaries! Clearly animal welfare is not your priority given how this raid was handled. Horrendous behaviour by MNR!

I was camping in a no camp area, it was a bad choice but at the time it made sense and I did not see the sign until too late. I had officer's Jennifer Cox and Mark Bailie come to the island. They are awesome people with great hearts! They did ask me to leave, and gave me a huge break not giving me a ticket!! I have a inflatable kayak so asked if they could help bring my wood across when they came back. Instead of watching me they helped pack up my gear and helped me across the lake. With the wind and the white caps I never would have made it back safely! They made my bad experience a good one. I'm very grateful for their help, and I truly hope there are more people in this world like them! And I actually would like to see more officers out at Deerock conservation, people have destroyed so much of it.
