I had a great stay at Gateway Motel in Canora, SK. The price was very reasonable, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and everything I needed was taken care of. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, especially Elizabeth, who went above and beyond to make sure I felt at home. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days. I highly recommend this motel to anyone passing through or staying in the area!

Inexpensive, very clean rooms. Owners friendly but lady asked me twice how old my kids were (7, 12) and advised “don’t let them pee the bed because we will have to throw it out”, which was strange given their ages. Man wanted $20 for a lost key which we found later, and refunded us graciously. Overall good stay!

People have to understand this is a small town and NOT the city.
We stayed for 2 nights and it's was great!
Yes the rooms are dated but you know what that's adds character. Also the town it's self has everything you need. People are soo friendly.
The owner of the motel is very nice and I witnessed them cleaning the rooms. So yes the rooms get cleaned.
So if you need to hang your hat for a wedding or something else. This is a good option.
Price is good and it's way better then sleeping in your vehicle.

My boyfriend and I checked in for the night and asked for a room with one bed. The owner let us know that there was only 1 room available that was clean and ready, but it had two beds. At this point we did not care and took what was available to us. Before we paid, the owner let us know that he was only going to charge us for the rate of a one bed room. We thought we were getting a deal. He was very friendly and hospitable at this point.

We had a horrible check out experience. When we gave back the keys, the owner asked us if we used both beds. Of course we did because we paid to stay in the WHOLE room. The owner then said that we would have to pay an extra $10.10 since we used both beds. He went on and explained that he told us we were only permitted to use one bed the day before. My boyfriend and I did not remember having that conversation with him and refused to pay the $10. We were calmly having a disagreement until the owner started raising his voice and repeating the same schpeel while talking over us. It was like he was having a tantrum. I stopped pleading my case and put the $10.10 on the counter and walked out. We felt ripped off.

We would have paid for the double bed room if it was charged to us in the first place. This all could have been a misunderstanding, but the owner did not conduct himself properly at all.

We stayed in room 23. The bathroom did not have a fan and black mold was growing on the walls.

I hope this review finds it's way to the owner so they can adjust the way they run things over there. I wish them the best and I hope they can turn things around.

I definitely recomment you guys to come to this motel! So nice view, huge place, fresh clean rooms, friendly owner and inexpensive price!

Room was not overly clean but I was willing to ignore it. Comforter on bed had huge yellow stain on it so I took it off. But just as I was going to go to bed I noticed a small bug on the headboard. I killed it, then soon seen another. I killed it and then i seen another one. I removed the headboard from the wall to investigate further and found the back covered with insect fecal matter. I seen another one of these bugs as well. I had never experienced or seen bed bugs before so I finally googled it and sure enough. Needless to say I grabbed all my stuff and got the hell out of there. This was about 10:30 pm. Luckily there was one more place in town I was able to get a room. Very disturbing experience.

Been there several years ago, but leaving a review cause it bumped up in my mind.
Overall, the room and the washroom was clean and they had such welcoming hosts. Definitely would like to visit again if I have another chance.

The motel is in a rural setting but still could be bug free and spruced up. The screen on the screen door was torn and the glass was dirty.
The room we stayed in seemed clean and worn. The bathroom was really worn - the tile, silicone and grout. All corners in the bathroom, tub, sink, floors, etc were really dirty. I cleaned the baseboards ...just to check and some grunge did come off.
The motel is in a nice location, has a nice manager, and could really be a nice place to stay.
