Rob and his crew completed a challenging en-suite bathroom renovation. The renovation was based on an architects design which was missing some important details/considerations. Rob helped with the design changes/adjustments and the selection of fixtures. There were several changes in the scope we originally provided, and this plus our request that we be home during the work delayed completion. Through it all, Rob was very accommodating and maintained his cost projection. Very pleased with the final result and would recommend Rob and his team.

I have been hesitant to post this review of a bathroom renovation because the people working at 4 leaf are all very nice people and I enjoyed getting to know them. However, I would never use them again nor would I recommend them.
I had ongoing problems with their work. Ultimately I am posting because after about a year past completion I am still frustrated with the work and have just recently had to repair one of their errors.
The following are a list of difficulties, frustrations and failures:
1.the job took over 6 months to complete the job
2.they broke my washing machine and damaged the new one
3.they punched a hole through the bathroom wall into the living room
4. They used 2 different grout colours on my shower surround
5. They damaged another wall into my bedroom
6. They chipped siding on the exterior of my house
7. They did not level the tile around the toilet so now the toilet wobbles
8. They almost never showed up unless I contacted them to see when they would be coming
9. They left a hole in the wall but covered it with a mirror
10. The towel hooks ripped out within 2 weeks
11. I had to ask them to redo the walls where they installed the vanity as the gouged them during install
12. They didn’t seal the faucet in the shower
13. They installed the sink faucet but I had to have someone come in and tighten the taps
14 I asked several times about ordering an expensive grate and was told to go ahead and order it as it was the correct size but then they installed something else that was quite ugly. Not only could I not return the original but the new one couldn’t be changed.

This bathroom renovation was on ongoing stress and was in no way satisfactory. I was not compensated for any of the above errors. The only thing they did was repair the hole in the wall and paint the chipped stucco.
Ultimately my bathroom is nicer than it was however it in no way went well.
I chose to go with 4 leaf because their quote was slightly cheaper than another I got but I now appreciate why.

I had originally hired Four Leaf based on good reviews online, I had the complete opposite experience and am quite unhappy. I am a red seal journeyman electrician and Rob let me do the electrical which I am grateful for, but that has been the only positive note from working with them.

I hired them for a 500sq ft legal basement suite which took almost 11 months to finish. People build entire homes in less time than that. Throughout the project I felt like I had to manage Rob and the project which is not the reason you hire a general contractor. I had to catch mistakes and keep reminding them what is left to do and what is next. I had to constantly push for Rob to send his guys here to try and finish the project. I even gave an advance in payment with a promise to push the project to completion with no change in urgency on Rob’s part, often times weeks with no one working here.

There has been a severe lack of communication from Rob throughout the duration of the project. I’ve worked with a lot of quality contractors who give daily updates to clients on what has been done, what is left to do, and estimated completion date, but rarely did I receive these updates without asking for them, it was very common to go weeks with no communication.

Now Rob has claimed they have “finished” (though we again had to reach out to receive this status update) but I have a dirty basement with dust/debris all over, dirty exterior door from mud/tape, wall dents and scratches not patched up, poorly planned closet doors with missing parts, and sticky doors. Nothing feels “new” about this new suite, and no reputable contractor would leave a place like this and hand it over as a finished product.

I was quoted for Benjamin Moore paint but got cloverdale paint which is much cheaper and lower quality. We felt like he was always waiting until the last minute to give us finishing options, further causing delays, and would only send a minimal amount of the cheapest options until we asked to see more that would fit previous choices we had.

We are very disappointed in the attention to detail on finished products and lack of responsibility. Now I will have to spend my own time and fix/clean things I have paid a contractor to do already.

Rob and Kevin were prompt, reliable, courteous, respectful, very knowledgeable and patient. Their work is extremely well done and to our complete satisfaction. We would definitely hire them again.

Rob and his entire team were so great to work with. We had a complete kitchen renovation including removing a wall done through Four Leaf. We were so impressed right away. They were always very professional and left our house as clean as possible at the end of every work day. Rob was both patient and accommodating when we had a hard time making decisions. We love our new kitchen. We will definitely use Four Leaf again next time we need any construction or renovation projects done. We will always recommend them whenever someone asks!
