I have sent repeated emails to the email on the site and they all are returned. No person to speak with and hundreds of dollars spent on licensing application and requirements only to have application closed and no answer, but they have all of my money. How can I help others when this system is failing me?

Waste of tax payer dollars!!! The Dept should be audited and completely restructured. Spent over 2 months waiting on them to “ approve my application” to find a glitch. 0/5 stars.

Completely useless. How is it possible that there's no one to answer the phones for the past 2 plus years.

No live person to contact and email got no response in a timely manner. Website is useless if you changed your email and forgot what email address you used for your profile, you have no way to log into the website. Sad for a government agency that regulates financial services to be so mediocre and incompetent

This agency is an absolute joke!!! I lost my entire life, home, pets, everything!! Caleb Douglas comes out to do an investigation. Perfect except he tells us we won't be able to see the report. Ummmm really? Then why do the report if we are not gonna be privileged to see his results? Now that it's 10 months later I finally get to get a copy of the report BUT for a fee and it's gonna be redacted. What's the point? Your charging the victim of a tragic fire for a report? Do I not pay my taxes that pays for these agencies? If there was gonna be a fee that information should have been given upfront. Be honest and stop prolonging Insurance.

I have NEVER in my life felt so relieved and blessed than when Mrs. Edna Berry Insurance examiner reached out to me regarding issues I was having with my own insurance provider regarding my claim. I had contacted two law firms including Morgan & Morgan and I was on the verge of just hitting rock bottom. Mrs. Berry was extremely attentive and got things taken care of or handled within a 48 hour period then my provider magically sent me the settlement offer and opened lines of communication. I have never felt that type of customer satisfaction or support EVER! This company NEEDS to acknowledge this woman and her efforts. I will brag, shout and praise her name on any site for any review at ANYTIME. that is how strongly I feel. THANK YOU MRS. EDNA BERRY MY HERO

I wish they would hire more employees to answer the phone. I was told they were understaffed so everything was being handled by email. Email is not cutting it and not all of the answers are on the website. If you have 1 question, the answer could lead to other questions and the time it takes to get a response is 3-5 business days. This is incredibly frustrating and delaying potential employment for some people.

I had a car accident in Feb 2019.

The fault of the accident was at dispute with Geico, so I asked for the FL Department of Financial Services for help on outside meditation which is provided to Florida consumers and allowed through my auto policy.

I had to pay a $100 meditation deposit for the FL Department of Services to open a claim against the insurance company.

When Geico recieved the mediation letter they instead declined the voluntarily mediation and reviewed internally and decided to change fault of the accident to 100% not my fault in May 2019.

Per the FL Department of Financial Services policy, if the insurance company declines the mediation for any reason then the $100 deposit is refunded to the consumer.

I formally requested a refund back in June 2019 from the department and even had to sign a form for the refund which weirdly required my full social security number.

It is now Dec 2019, 6 months later and I have still have not recieved my refund. I have called at least 5-6 times since the initial refund request and have sent 4 emails. Each time I talk to someone on their team I'm told that the check was first written and just waiting on a directors desk for final signature approval and then last time I called last month I was told the same thing and that I should recieve the check by now.

$100 isn't much to me but it could be for many other people. It's very ironic and unfortunate that a FL government department that is put in place to protect consumers is the one actually holding consumers money, which is opposite of what taxpayer dollars are supposed to be used for. Also knowing that my refund form has been sitting for 6 months with my full security number on it is a questionable security risk.

Hopefully this review helps a leader in the department to look into these unfortunate occurrences and fix them for future consumers.
