My partner and I have been coming to Elfinlau for 5+ years and we can’t get enough of it! Marcella is absolutely an amazing host. As you walk through the property, you can observe how everything is so well-thought to be one with nature yet functional. You can not beat the lake, the quality of the drinking water, the sunsets and so much more! Elfinlau will always be our home and we can not recommend it enough.

My boyfriend and I were invited with a group of friends to Elfinlau for the weekend. This place is beautiful, peaceful, gorgeous, and stress free. Marcella is an amazing lady who takes care of her land, home & business. She made our visit so memorable. Loved every second of her presence and her home that she opened up to us for the weekend. Just a magical place! Marcela and Ray have built a truly amazing place where fairies live. Beautiful place to get away from it all. Amazing energy in that place! Close enough to town but it feels like you’re on a deserted island with nobody other than your thoughts. Can be a scary thing for some people, hahaah. Truly a paradise in a crazy and busy world!

This is what I like to call luxury camping!
As we settled in and received the tour our tranquil vacation began. We were greeted with a personalized welcome sign and a large smile! Solar power and candles lit our evenings (losing cards by candlelight still hurts). We woke up to the gentle sound of waves hitting the shore and though it rained the soft sound of raindrops were perfect for putting us to sleep.
Ray and Marcella were the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome on their little piece of paradise.
I highly recommend Elfinlau for anyone who is looking to get away from the world (while still being close to it). We will definitely be going back as quickly as we can.

Truly a marvelous experience. Ray and Marcella greeted us warmly and gave us a grand tour of their totally miraculous property. We spent three glorious days relaxing in paradise. There was kayaking, a natural sauna, and a most beautifully appointed cabin. Make sure to hike up to the look out and drink the natural spring water that comes out of the taps. A place I won't soon forget!

Elfinlau is definitely a beautiful place.
Unfortunately one of the selling points of the whole experience was a “sauna” which our group did not have the pleasure of experiencing because the proprietor twice “forgot” to turn it on for us at the time she had scheduled to.
If this is an advertised feature it should be available to all paying guests. We had high hopes of returning next year but this spoiled the experience.

This is a very long overdue review for the hosts of Elfinlau. WHAT A PARADISE!
I came in May of 2014 with a big group of ladies and we booked out the whole place. You really can't beat the location!
We got picked up by boat by one of the charming hosts, and heartily welcomed on the receiving docks by the other. We felt so at home in these adorable cabins, we had to tear ourselves away at the end of our weekend there.
There are trails to hike; docks to swim, fish, and boat off; kitchens to prepare you food; solar lamps to keep your evenings going; a Swedish sauna on the water's edge;... and gorgeous, private views.
Can't recommend this little gem enough. Thank you so much for making my sister's staggette a weekend to remember. Vielen dank, we'll see you again!
