If you want to make sure your money and love ones are taken care of use any other investment firm. DO NOT USE Edwards Jones they do not care about there clients. They disbursed funds incorrectly by wire transfer and when you call there customer relation's department well they hang up on you. Disgusting customer service and Code of Ethics there is none

Knowledgeable people but I'm questioning the benefit of having a tfsa with EJ now.
Whats the point of a "tax free" account if you pay prohibitive fees on the other hand anytime you do a transaction..?
On the long run..10...15 years ..thousands of dollars are lost in fees.🤷‍♂️
Fees are percentage based, not fixed amount per transaction means the more you have , the more you pay fees.

Worst company EVER! Numerous calls to get my funds transferred and I get a new lie every time I speak to someone at Edward Jones. They forget this is MY money, not theirs. I would give them a negative five if it was possible.

Happy client for 9 years. People commenting here about the lack of service -- so where are you investing? My advisor calls me regularly. His admin is first rate. Can't say that about any of the big banks. The banks don't want to talk to you if you have under $500K -- they send you to their KIOSK and away you go. High fees? Maybe you should try your luck with Questrade. Trade for next-to-nothing and hope you know what you're doing. Odds are you don't have a clue. Advisors from all firms charge fees because you're getting their knowledge and expertise. And you get what you pay for. Good luck.

I am currently transferring out from EJ. I have been with them a couple of years and while happy with my advisor, I am leaving because of the very high fees being charged every month.

That brings me to the 2nd part of my gripe with EJ. They pro rate the monthly costs for the month that you are leaving, fair enough but it is about 95% of the total charge even though it is for only 12 days.

I dont have a massive RRSP or TFSA ,with about 10 years left before retirement and I am looking at saving $30,000 between now and then in monthly charges alone by transferring. Thats considerable and should be taken into account for anyone considering using their services.

With the amount I am able to invest each year generally it is added to what I have not "looking" for new avenues, so the personal advice part seems an excessive on going cost. not all advice driven investments have been good ones either.

In Canada your account information is sadly lacking, totals are a day behind, you cannot do any research on possible investment, I guess so you can have the agent "adviser" call that "advising" and justify your fees. Any trades has to be done through the agent.

There are much better (and inexpensive) platforms out there now that are way more cost effective, research is better, pretty easy to navigate and where you are not feeling you are putting anyone out.

I am very upset about the lack of call back from my advisor. I only had one meeting with him two years ago ( in person). I started losing a lot of money from my investments in Dec. 2021 and I didn't get a call back from him until Feb. 22. At this time he said the markets were down but he said they would probably go back up soon. By the end of April I decided I had lost enough money so I tried to get the whole thing cancelled and then I ran into more problems re taxes. Very poor advise given and no contact from the advisor!

Do not see how their high costs for clients can work well for avg. joe. They had charged like Hundred BUCKS commission cut per basic equity trade in past, sure its still high or much higher than industry competition. Door to door sales that they will use is like modern day snake oil sales man, which they almost promise that they will make you money by buying blue chip immemorial company or some old like strategy; yet they take a lot from you in high cuts, fees that come from hard work off your back.

Do not deal with Edward Jones, worst organization ever. Within span of 3 months, 4 advisors have changed at Mississauga office I dealt with. Their fees are high and service is low. Deal with anyone else but Edward Jones. They look after themselves to get most fees out of you.
