Had a great experience renting an ice hut here, just make sure to allow extra time for them to respond to your service calls.

I’d also recommend bringing a few extra hooks and sinkers if you’re renting rods, as sometimes fish can break your line and having them lets you jump right back in.

Additionally, make sure to pop out every now and then and make sure your propane tank isn’t getting too light, as it can get cold quickly if you run out and need to wait for a replacement!

I had a very disappointing experience at this location. The facilities were extremely dirty, with a terrible smell in both the office and the washroom. I was also disturbed to see a rabbit in a cage that appeared to be neglected.

As for the fishing, it was a complete waste of time and money. The ice fishing spots are only about 4 feet deep, making it nearly impossible to catch anything. This place is definitely not worth it. If you’re looking to throw your money away, this is the place to go—but I won’t be coming back.

We had a terrible experience with this place last week due to poor management and disorganized staff.
1. Miscommunication and wasted time: The staff told us we couldn’t use our phone camera to scan the QR code and had to use WeChat instead. We tried multiple times, but it wouldn’t work. After nearly an hour of frustration, we realized that the staff had given us the wrong instructions. Their mistake delayed our fishing for almost an hour.

2. Lost fishing rods: We requested to swap two fishing rods, and the staff took them away after 20 minutes. However, they never brought us replacements, effectively taking away two of our rods for the rest of the session.

3. Unsafe transportation: The tracked vehicle (snowmobile) started moving before we were even seated properly. Both a person and a dog in our group nearly fell off completely because there were no safety measures in place, and the driver didn’t check if we were securely seated before taking off.

4. Unfair deposit policy: The group before us didn’t have a credit card, so the staff waived their deposit requirement. However, when it was our turn, they charged our credit card immediately with no flexibility.

5. Terrible customer service & unclear policies: Our car had trouble due to the snowstorm, so we called in advance to reschedule according to their website policy. The website clearly states that the deposit can be transferred to a later date. However, the staff on the phone had a terrible attitude and rudely said, “Oh, if you’re late, you’re late. What do you expect me to do?” They also insisted on a 72-hour notice for deposit transfers, even though their website did not mention this rule. After arguing, they finally agreed. There seems to be no clear policies and staff just make up rules as they go.

Avoid this place if you expect professional service, safety, and fair treatment.

Very good experience. Even with my 14 months baby, it was quite good and comfy place to spend winter times. And we harvest lots fishes as a new fisherman.

Had a fantastic experience at C.W. ice hut rentals. The staff were incredible - always around if you needed anything, changed the propane tank when it ran out and even had free hot chocolate at the end of the night! Will definitely be coming back!
