Adopted both of my kitties from here. Oliver in 2022, and Stevie this past September. The adoption process is quick and easy, and the fees are super reasonable, especially when both kitties came spayed/neutered, vaxxed, chipped, and tattooed. Staff is super helpful, kind and informative. I recommend CAHS to anyone searching for their new furry friend. Always great to support a local shelter. Forever grateful for my 2 BFFS❀

So thankful that so many amazing pets find their way after a brief stay here. A classic case of who saved who by adopting our new family member. Thank you Cochrane And Area Humane Society. I have adopted from CAHS for years, and recently started fostering for them too!
The staff and volunteers are EXTREMELY friendly and lovely! They ensure all questions are answered, and will provide all the information you need for the animal you’re adopting or fostering. The communication is fantastic for volunteers/foster parents. I have gotten to know some of the wonderful regular staff here, and they always recognize me when I’m in town and visiting!

Their foster program is amazing, and fostering saves lives (both theirs and ours)! I started fostering when my late rabbit passed and I was not ready to adopt yet. The animals I’ve fostered have repeatedly saved my life in many ways - great for mental health!

We adopted Nico Dec 15, 2024 we meet him Dec 14, 2024 as well as him meeting our current dog. The whole meeting took about 2 hours but the staff were very through. I was reading the reviews and some of the negative reviews and the only one I felt was somewhat legit was the area where you can do a dog to dog meet and greet. We had to be outside and cross the street in the empty parking lot. They just don't have another option and we were ok with that. I would have brought a hat and gloves as it was so windy but we lived, we wanted Nico so we managed. He is a lovely dog and you can tell they put alot of effort into his care. We did default to their assesment on whether or not we would be a good fit or if Nico a good fit for us since they knew him better than us. Thankfully it was a go and he has been with us for one month. We love him much and so does our other dog. The after adoption support was fantastic! We reached out a few days later to ensure what we were seeing was good dog/husky behaviour since he is very vocal and we had help right away. All was good and we have been doing our own research on how to work with him ( breed specific) as we want him to be himself but also a good neighbour/sibling ( so to speak). It was great that they sell everything you need, we didn't bring a harness or leash because we could fit him there and buyit there- perfect! We never had any bad attitudes from staff, to me, they were very friendly and helpful. I'd adopt from here again. THANK YOU to all at the Cochrane Humane Society staff/team members that cared for our boy until we could!

I got my dog Jake (Chase) here nov 2022. He just got a groom with Justine and looks amazing. He can be fearful and she was very patient with him! Some of the volunteers/staff even recognized him when I brought him in which I thought was so sweet.
