I recently, for the first time, had to use the medical facilities at Chemainus Urgent Care. Based on past experience with other health care facilities, I was apprehensive and skeptical that I would get good treatment. I was pleasantly surprised though. The staff were all compassionate, quick to see me and the Doctor was superb . He diagnosed my problem right away and sent me for tests right away. He may have saved my life that way. Kudos to Chemainus Urgent Care and the medical staff and receptionist. All who are there, I thank you for your care.

Dr. Derek Sargent told me that all the symptoms I developed after surviving a 90km/h+ head-on collision by a drunk driver—neck pain, head and forehead swelling, reduced sensation on one side of the body, hip pain with tingling, consistent numbness in my left toe, left body cold when another is warm, and ear ringing lasting over two months—were just my imagination. These symptoms did not exist before the accident. His conclusion was based on a brief physical exam, during which he ignored that my left knee could barely kick after his double check. He also refused my request for an X-ray. You better pray for the results of the x ray that I’m now getting proper imaging done elsewhere. It seems that some doctors who spent over a decade in medical school have forgotten their basic duty—to ensure anyone in pain is thoroughly assessed. Dr. Chatgpt could do a better job with no personal judgement that wasting air.

Took my eight year-old daughter there and they refused to give antibiotics to children even when they clearly need it. It has been twice this has happened. If a child needs medication, they should be provided with it. Four hours spent to be turned away.

I called in advance to make sure the clinic was going to be open since I was coming from out of town and was told they would close at 2pm, so I should arrive before 1pm. I arrived at 12pm and was told they were closed. There was no mention of the possibility of an earlier closure. Wasted my time because of incorrect information.

The Woman and Men m, Doctors and Nurses at the Chemainus Urgent Care are truly amazing. Nurse Liz was genuinely such a caring and compassion nurse. Dr Hussein is a standup, incredibly caring, and compassionate physician. If you get the opportunity to see him you’re in great hands.

My hubby and I both had to go to the lab to get some bloodwork done. We were greeted at the door promptly at 8 am. The staff were so friendly and we were treated very well. We're so lucky to have this service right here in Chemainus. Thanks to all the staff.

I had to go to Chemainus Urgent Care as a result of a bike accident 7 stitches later I was out. I was so impressed with Dr. Lewis and the nurses there. So pleasant and professional. I initially went to the Ladysmith Urgent Care however they were extremely busy. The nurse there took the time to call Chemainus and suggested less wait time there. So I made the short trip to Chemainus We are so lucky to have these facilities and the great staff that goes with them. Thank you.l
