Popped into the Canoe and Paddle while visiting the area and had such a great experience. The service was absolutely amazing—Jake was super friendly and helped us decide what to order. We ended up getting chicken wings, poutine, nachos, a burger, and drinks.

The food, cooked by the wonderful Alice, was delicious and the portions were huge! Everything was full of flavor and definitely hit the spot—true comfort food. We left full and happy. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!!

My family and I enjoyed a day in Lakefield so we stopped in at the Canoe and Paddle for some lunch. Our server was so lovely and attentive. She was good people. We all enjoyed our lunches. The food was delicious. The songs were good mild rock and roll hits.

Stopped in for dinner. What a vibe. Although the restaurant was full, we were seated right away and were catered to immediately. Had the poutine to start and was so delicious! I could have had 2 of those as a meal. Got the lemon garlic chicken for dinner and was not disappointed once again. Service was stellar.

Will definitely come back here when we are back in the area.

I love this spot for the salmon goat cheese salad. It’s unexpectedly amazing. The pricing of this restaurant is excellent and the staff are always so kind and friendly. My partner and I love coming here when we’re in Lakefield. They offer a gluten free bun option and we’re knowledgeable about what had hidden gluten (like the pulled pork). Anyways, you should go here. It’s a cozy Canadian pub and you should definitely order that salad. 🥗 👌🏽

We do a country drive from Oshawa about once a month for a visit. Food, prices and service are always consistently great. The staff always make us feel welcome. The backyard patio in the summer is awesome!
Jake, Jeremy and Dale always recognize us and make us feel like family coming in for a visit.

Before the menu change the food was good and portions were decent and service was excellent. Now with the new menu they are not good. Beef patties are half the size of the previous menu. Service is crap. Won’t be back for a while.

We are big fans! Love the patio in the summer and the English Pub atmosphere inside. We often go in for Senior breakfast which is very reasonable price for smaller appetites. I would have given 5 stars except we have found it occasionally inconsistent with the quality of some of the food. The last 2 times we were in, the ham with breakfast was like dry leather. I am not one to complain so I ate most of it regardless. I won’t order the ham with breakfast again. Also, they don’t know how to make a cup of tea which is amusing for an English pub! My friend and I ordered tea and it came with lukewarm water. The water for tea has to be boiled not drawn from a hot water dispenser for coffee. Terrible cup of tea, undrinkable. Stopped ordering tea with breakfast. Unfortunately I don’t drink coffee or I would go to that. I am hoping that the management and/or staff read this so that they can correct these issues. Otherwise love going here and enjoy the chicken wings, salads, delicious sandwiches and fries.

A little slow but worth waiting for generous servings in a friendly atmosphere. Good craft beer selection that is served very fresh and flavourful. Really “hopping” on a Wednesday evening for trivia night!
