I am a long time member of CAA but have one complaint. Just before going to Europe we were buying travel products when it was proposed to us to buy international drivers licenses at $20 each. Naively we did (valid for a year). On arriving in France we picked up our car (from Avis) showed our Canadian drivers licenses and were on our way.

So where and when are international drivers licenses needed?

Is this just a money grab by CAA?

Will CAA refund our $40? You can have the licenses back.

Great service. Walked in ten minutes before closing and was able to grab an international drivers license with no headaches. All staff still had smiles on their faces despite me walking in right before close. Keep up the great work!

What a disappointing experience at the Orillia CAA. The store was extremely quiet. There was only one other customer beside myself. Two employees were arguing quite loudly with each other when I got there. No one said hello or approached me to offer help. When I asked for information they couldn’t answer my question adequately. Suggested I Google it.
It seems that they lacked product knowledge.
The young woman who took the payment for an item I purchased was inattentive and somewhat defensive while processing the transaction.
Will consider going elsewhere (Barrie) if I need help with any travel plans in the future.

Went to store about 415. The store closes at five so I thought I would wait a few minutes as the travel agent there had two people with her. I sat down and was texting the friend I would be travelling with and was waiting. Thought I would wait till about 20 to 5 and then come back the next day if she was still occupied with the couple so while I was waiting, at around about 430, she turns to me and asks, kind of loud, “ Are you waiting for me”?, so I said,” well yes,” and was GOING to say, “but if you are going to be a little bit yet, I can come back tomorrow”, however, I only got the “yes” out and she very rudely states, “Well I’m not going to have time to deal with you today”. I said,” oh really”? and she says, again very rudely, “yes really”. so I stood up and said well you won’t have to deal with me at all. I’ll go elsewhere! I have never been treated so poorly! We’ve booked trips there a few times, trips to Europe and never been treated like this! I have friends of mine who were going to book a trip to Europe and will not go there now just because of the way I was treated. Geez, I would’ve come back. You didn’t need to be rude to me .
