Myself and our entire family will be forever grateful to the owners and staff at Brookside for the loving care of our mother. Mom had everything she needed, from personal care, medication management, abundant, delicious meals, on site physiotherapist, social entertainment and interaction and so much more. All of this, in an environment that felt like home. Mom made so many friends among the residents as well as the staff. If mom needed extra assistance, they were always there to lend a hand. Through the most difficult times, they worked with us to ensure mom could remain at Brookside for as long as possible…the place that mom loved.
I would highly recommend Brookside to anyone who maybe looking for an assisted living residence. Put your mind at ease, Brookside will treat your loved one like family.

My Mother-in-law was a resident of Brookside Retirement residence for 20 years and she could not have had better care! Brookside staff became part of her family and while she could, she enjoyed the activities and the friends she'd made there. Whenever we visited her, we were made to feel very welcome like we were also part of the Brookside family! Congratulations to Sandra and Todd on celebrating Brookside's 20th anniversary since opening!

Mom lost 60 lbs In the 19 months at Brookside . Her doctor informed us that she was dangerously thin. Mom needed supportive eating. We understood that this is not a service that Brooksdie was able to provide, however, they made it very difficult to have her family provide supportive eating. Our paid caregiver was not provided access to the cafeteria nor were her family members. We paid a home care service to come twice a week and her daughters took the remaining days to feed her. These actions stabilized her low weight. At some point, Brookside changed her meal plan to soup only for lunch and dinner without discussion with the family which further exasperated our efforts for mom to gain weight. Brookside returned mom to the full meal plan once the LHIN became aware and insisted that she be provided the same meal as the rest of the residents.

I have a family member that lived at Brookside for a number of years. She never felt afraid anywhere in the building, and had many friends, both residents and staff while she was there. Brookside Retirement Living is a great option for anyone needing help in the daily living of their lives, as well as anyone requiring respite care after a hospital stay.

Grandma was severely mistreated. Seems extremely shady that negative reviews are being deleted here. The staff may like it, what does that matter? This place was beyond neglectful to my grandma, we had to take her out and it was a struggle - this place could very well have been the end of her.
