I came into the Brie and Barrel with some friends and family for a nice dinner. Keanna, our server was lovely! She looked after all our needs and knew exactly when to come and assist us. The menu has a lot of really great options for the cold months. I went with the Baked Brie as an appetizer- which was fantastic- followed by the Chicken Cordon Brie. We had a nice booth which was very private, lovely to interact with friends and family. I would give this place 10 stars if possible, will be back soon!!

An absolutely mouthwatering experience from beginning to end. We started with the baked brie and caramelized onion to accompany our berry spritz and caesar, then moved on to the shrimp linguine and chicken cordon brie and finished with the deconstructed baklava. We barely stopped to take a breath. Like hungry animals at the zoo. Cream sauce doused the table as we inhaled our dishes with such relish.

Our server was phenomenal, making menu suggestions with such aplomb and warmth that we felt very assured with our choices. This restaurant is such a treasure, I'd travel across the country to eat at it again. I was also blessed to meet the chef of the place, a beautiful and talented woman who clearly has a grasp on the best things in life. We will remember this place fondly as we head home to bitter ontario. Lots of love to all the staff.

This review is long overdue but I still wanted to share my appreciation for the wonderful birthday dinner I had at Brie & Barrel back in March. This place continues to be one of my favourite restaurants ever (even compared to restaurants in Vancouver, where I used to live). I love the atmosphere and the evening ambience, the service was wonderful (so warm, welcoming, and they made my sister and me feel genuinely cared for), and the food and cocktails were impeccable. Everything was delicious; so flavourful, well-balanced, and also just beautifully presented. I also really appreciate them having solid vegetarian options that don’t feel lacking at all. I look forward to trying their Moroccan dishes during future visits! Thank you for a memorable and utterly delicious night 🙏🏽

Had such a great meal for our anniversary. The Lemon Pepper Prawn Linguine was so delicious, I savored every last bite. My man had the lamb and it was also delicious. The chocolate mousse is a MUST! The service was fantastic. Lovely family owned business. I hope this restaurant gets the well-deserved support. We will definitely be back. Thank you again for the lovely experience.

Absolutlely delightful resteraunt. What an improvement from the previous incarnation. Excellent service, and the food is worthy of a Michelin Experience in Paris. Each item on the menu is worth enjoying. 5 of 5 stars. The Owners come and talk to the guests and make them feel right at home. There is not a moment where regret enters your mind. I will recommend this resteraunt to out of towners and locals alike. Worth the stop to sample this star on Argyle Street. At least more than once.

Vibrant, flavourful, large portions and well plated dishes. The staff were so friendly and always checking in. I'm visiting from the Kootenays, and I highly recommend the Brie and Barrel.

There is no question this is one of the best meals that I have had in a long time. The atmosphere to start with is so relaxing, calms and welcoming with nice music and place settings.

We were welcomed by Keanna who was a joy. She made some fabulous drinks and was very attentive.

We had the baked Brie, one of my favorite I have had. A must for sure.

On to the Short ribs and the lamb. So yummy!

Last thing was the chocolate Mousse, which I would recommend asking that they dont add the Carmel to, just makes it too sweet.

We will be back anytime we are in town. Love the family atmosphere (Keanna's Mom and her sister run the kitchen.

Fantastic local restaurant in Port Alberni.
The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, and professional.
The drinks menu was filled with as many local options as they could fit.
For dinner I had the Braised Short Rib+Gnocchi and my partner had the Chicken Cordon Brie. Both dishes were phenomenal.
Everything was perfectly cooked and well seasoned.
The potion sizes were normal, not too much, not too little.

Thank you greatly for the experience, we most definitely will be dining here again
