I tried calling for emergency services as I just had surgery and the lady did not understand anything I was saying gave me all the wrong information and told me to have a good day! Super disappointed with how this works out for struggling single mothers!

what's the point of even contacting you when most reviews rate your service at one star out of five.
I do have a particular problem .. you were referred to me. Now I am very reluctant to even contact you.

I have been getting help from them since moving here and 3 months ago they cut me off because I am unable to find a PAYING job, they said “ even if someone is doing volunteer jobs that isn’t good enough for them to keep supporting you because it isn’t considered working “
I was told wait a month then apply again so I did and two weeks to hear from a case worker JUST to him say “ best choice is to appeal the decision “ and call ended.

I did that for the letter stating they will contact me about the appeal and figure something out within two weeks, that one 4 weeks ago and now I’m in the negative with my bank and three months behind on all my bills.

And was told if you’re in a relationship and the partner is making over 1500 they can’t accept your application so if a single person wants to get with someone they can’t because that will automatically decline the process.

Alberta is a huge joke, move to BC where they assign a worker in your town that you meet with in person, monthly and have a list of jobs you have applied to, where you got interviews and that is good enough for them to keep supporting you.

0 stars.

As a severely disabled individual who relies on social services for financial assistance this "support" centre is the absolute WORST I have had to deal with in over ten years.

Nothing but problems. My account has been "closed" twice with zero explanation, meaning I don't receive my assistance (nor health benefits). Nor do I get notice of this happening until I see that I didn't receive anything. Afterwards I have to reapply, which takes weeks.

I feel belittled and disrespected whenever I have to talk to someone. The phone system is horrible and you are on hold for ages.

Emergency financial assistance does not exist. I was denied twice before despite being eligible.

Today I called to ask for emergency assistance once more. I'm about to be homeless and have no food. I was explaining my situation, in a calm and nice manner and the woman on the phone hung up on me while I was in the middle of talking. Perhaps if you have zero compassion for individuals in unfortunate circumstances then you shouldn't be working there. Probably my final straw.

If I could give less than one star I would...must be nice to not have to worry about money while they're making $20 plus an hour.

Absolute joke. Waiting 35 minutes for $60 for emergency food. This is a joke for the economy we are living in. The next time they can give you money where you have to apply to get again, is one month after receiving the money they gave to a max of 3 payments.

my funds have been delayed several times and they pay very little, my case worker ignored my calls (apparently they stopped assigning individual case workers with zero notice), and i even called the main number once only to deal with an extremely rude employee. if you don't call them first thing in the morning, chances are you won't be seeing them later that day. their phone hangs up on you and asks you to try again later when they're not "too busy."
funds delayed again even though i've done everything right, reported on time, phoned and made sure that they aren't on hold, this is literally making me more depressed.

The phone is always busy but the worker are good and know how to deal with peoples who are facing financially hardship like me . The money not enough I’m being forced to live with other peoples sharing apartment because I can’t afford rent alone. now my toddler is hyper and I’m thinking about getting my own place for privacy reason but I don’t think I can afford . I have many health issue, but I’m willing to look for work because I can’t live my life with 1200 a month that’s is very low life that you can ever imagine .I apply job many job with no calls or interview and I’m worry maybe I need help like some one to be my reference since I did not work for a while .
