My entire family was booked through this company for a 1 week vacation/wedding party to Mexico. At the beginning, the communication was adequate. However, as the departure date neared, the communication we received plummeted. A big concern for us was that Lindsay said we could only depart and return from another province entirely. Which made zero sense as our connecting flight was to Toronto which flies directly from our province multiple times a day. This required additional costs that could have been avoided. Also, as this occurred in the winter, no one wants to drive to another province in the middle of the night in terrible driving conditions. When we landed in Mexico, Lindsay was supposed to arrange transport to and from the resort which did not happen so we…again…paid out of pocket to get to where we needed to go. When we got to the resort, the staff said they had zero record of our booking. According to the staff at the resort, Lindsay managed to send the resort some of our groups information but did not include ours. Luckily, the staff at the resort said they had a last minute opening otherwise they were fully booked. When it was time to checkout, Lindsay was supposed to ensure we had transport to the airport. This was not done, we spent hours trying to arrange transport so we didn’t have to pay out of pocket again and we were told by Lindsay that we had to call Air Canada ourselves and figure it out. She was zero help again. I ended up paying for another additional cost that should have been included in our package. I never use travel agents or companies but as this company was used for my family members wedding, we did it with the intent to make things smoother and easier for the wedding party. After this experience, I will never use this company again especially when we ended up doing half the organizing ourselves.

We were having trouble to sort out details for a location we wanted to book. We contacted Lindsay and she was awesome. Very efficient in getting information to us and easy going when we would change our mind on plans. Katelynn was very prompt in getting travel documents to us. Happy with the service we received and will plan to use again in the future.

We contacted Vacation for Heroes to help us book an all inclusive trip to Mexico as we were finding it very difficult to sort through the multitude for resorts. Lindsay helped us out and was able to narrow our choices down based on our budget and what we were looking for in a resort. She was also very helpful with recommendations for transport from the airport and what kind of currency we should bring.

Absolutely awful service. Our flight was delayed 24 hours and she did nothing to help us. The hotel she chose was dirty with cockroaches in the rooms!! Some people we travelled with believe they may have even gotten worms from the hotel. She also didn’t even book us directly through our local airport, we had to book our own way there. This ended up really screwing us over when our flight was delayed over 24 hours. We had to cancel our hotel rooms and pay hundreds of dollars for new connecting flights. Lindsay’s response? Should have bought the travel insurance she offered, which we didn’t even qualify for because we weren’t from Alberta.
Would never recommend this organization to anyone.

Fantastic company that helped me and my friends take a well deserved vacation in the Dominican. Quickly and professionally helped us via text and email with advice and information from early planning to questions that arose mid-trip. No doubt I will be using their services for the next trip.

I wrote an email to their general inquiry line to request help with a trip but received no response. I inquired again through email 2 weeks later making the same general inquiry. I received an auto generated email that said inquiries take 48 hours to get to (understandable). Over 1 week later I received and email back saying:

'Hello,
Thank you for your e-mail.
You asked about airfare. We are not able to assist with airline travel. We only offer timeshare resort reservations.'

That's it, no follow up as to how they might be able to assist me with my trip. My original inquiry was fairly open ended and I would have been open to the potential of booking a timeshare or resort vacation.

I have never received good customer service from this company. I will not ever go here to book my vacations and I would certainly recommend that my friends use alternate services.

I only give 1 star because I have to in order to submit this review. Otherwise I rate it zero. Hands down zero!!!

I have been using Vacations For Heroes for about 10 years now and wouldn't use anyone else. Lindsay is the best agent and always looks after me. I have referred everyone I know to her!
