I stayed in Agassiz for a couple days and was very happy with this store. It’s small but has everything you need including great meats and local produce. Overall a great expedience!

The prices of items are on par for the location and what it is. The people comparing this store to Costco are out of touch with reality. They have a good selection of items, specialty items I haven’t seen in other stores, and fresh bread and produce.

I’d like to give a shout out to the young lady who was working the till today that helped my son clean himself up after his ice cream cone broke. Keep up the good work!

I just left this store stunned. I had a few items in my cart that were promptly put back when I discovered they were asking 8.49 for a bag of mixed salad. It is the same product you get for a 2-pk at costco for $8. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Our beautiful little grocer down the road is selling the exact same product for $3.99. When are you going to stop using the excuse that you need to charge more because we are further out!?

So thought we might run out of coffee while on vacation so visited this location. I like quaint little stores in little towns but the prices are a bit more than I like to pay compared to where I live in the Lower Mainland. Still gotta have my coffee, so bought some!

In these times of retail food industry shortcuts and cost-cutting, there can still be found an extra ordinary level of true customer service secreted in a small town, old-school grocery store, in Agassiz B.C.

Once numbering second place among those grocerychain-stores populating the Province - second only to SafeWay, SupreValu stores today, number less than a hand-full. Nevertheless, seemingly in defiance of that historic trend, this aging, two till, SuperValu store in Agassiz, continues to rely the time honoured policy of quality products and Super quality customer service, as its hedge against the the encroachment of any and all, bigger, leaner-meaner competitors.

Boasting an in-store bakery, a quality produce department with a focus on ‘Local’, as well as an impressive variety - fresh cut meat counter, this small footprint super-store continues to defy the “Bigger-is-Better” philosophy that has resulted in the impersonal and lack of customer care, that has infected most of the big and expanding in numbers, chain stores.

I recently had occasion to request from their Meat Department, a special order boned and rolled, first cut, five bone Prime Rib - suitable for spit roasting. What they prepared, was the prettiest and best tasing piece of beef I have ever known…and I’ve been eating for a long time.

I first visited this little store more than 35 years ago and I was impressed with personable local staff and with the quality customer service they offered then - and I continued to be impressed today - more so because of the scarcity of that level of personal service offered elsewhere.

At least 5 stars for the staff and the service offered by SupeValu - Agassiz.

A last resort store as is so expensive. My review is driven by a purchase made by my teen son on Saturday the day before Mother’s Day. He went to buy me flowers and bought the most expensive single flower for a total of $14.55. When I say a single flower is exactly what it means, 1 carnation flower with a tiny baby’s breath flower wrapped in plastic. A complete gouge by the store owner taking advantage of those that don’t know better! So Shameful, my son being a young teen didn’t take the receipt or I would have gone there on Mother’s Day to return it! I’m so angry! Who stoops that low to make such an enormous profit!? Evil!
