Today, I visited Trenton Hospital for a routine CT scan. I parked in the paid lot and took my parking stub with me. Upon entering the hospital, I proceeded to the X-ray check-in desk, where I was greeted by a lovely and kind staff member. She checked me in within minutes and directed me to the CT scan waiting area.

I immediately noticed how clean and well-maintained the hospital was. It was also remarkably quiet, which was a relief for me, given my severe anxiety. The lack of crowds made the experience much more comfortable.

Within about five minutes, I was called into the CT scan room. The technician was incredibly kind and considerate, taking the time to ensure I was comfortable and explaining the entire process before beginning. The scan itself was completed in about 10 minutes, and the overall efficiency of the visit was impressive.

Upon leaving, I used the parking machine just outside the front doors, inserted my stub, and paid $4 for the visit, quick and easy.

I left feeling very pleased with the experience. The professionalism and kindness of the staff, along with the quick and seamless process, made this visit a positive one.

Went to emerg, sat there 12 hrs, 4 other ppl in emerg have no clue why they were so slow.
Nurses have zero bedside manners, understood they were understaffed still zero excuse. 1 doctor on for the night I was told.
I was from out of province told me to go back home to my dr.
This was the very worse experience of a hospital I’ve been through.
Zero care
If I could rate this place a zero I would.
I would never return!

Took my partner here the weekend of March 15th. She was suffering from several abdominal pains, we realized that emergency rooms are busy so we prepared to wait. Her symptoms got progressively worse, and she started to pass out in the waiting room. The nurses were amazing! Took care of her, show care and empathy and made sure she was comfortable while waiting to see a doctor. So many people have negative reviews on this hospital, but we need to remember how understaffed our hospitals are now, and the nurses and doctors are doing the best they can, in difficult circumstances.

It’s truly disheartening to see how broken our healthcare system has become. I don’t blame the staff, but clearly something isn’t right. I firmly believe that if a hospital cannot properly manage urgent care, it should not be providing care at all.

I’ve been to this hospital before, and each time the experience has gotten worse—especially with the wait times. It’s unclear what’s causing the delays, but the triage system seems inconsistent and subjective, often depending on which nurse is on duty and what they consider important.

Someone in severe pain, especially if they’re unable to clearly express it, can easily be overlooked or mistreated. If you want to be seen immediately, your best option might be calling an ambulance. After waiting seven hours despite reporting severe pain, we had to ask for pain medication ourselves—something that only offered brief relief.
As the saying goes, “Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is insanity.” Sadly, that seems to be the current reality of this hospital’s emergency care.

Went in Fri. 1 a.m. with sudden onset of it knee pain with no injury. Since I had previous pulmonary embolism, I felt it was prudent to go to ER. Finally saw a doctor that said I was right to be cautious. Ordered ultrasound, to be booked next day. I was discharged and arrived next day for Ultrasound at 12 p.m. Then had to be triage again in ER and waited til 6:30 p.m. for a result which was neg for dvt but positive for Bakers cyst. Why would someone not tag my file and read pending results and inform me before 6 hours had passed. I worked in Emerg at Scarborough General for years and this system at TMH is unacceptable. There were others waiting as long just for their imaging results.

Trenton (Quinte West) hospital is a complete disgrace. The doctor was rude, dismissive, and barely spoke to me before brushing it off as nothing. He did a blood test but clearly didn’t care or offer any real help. Said a nurse would come — no one did. I waited 45 minutes before walking out. Nurses said they thought I was discharged. Most were just sitting around on their phones, showing zero care for patients.

The lack of compassion and professionalism is shocking. These people shouldn’t be in healthcare — they don’t deserve the responsibility. The doctor was clearly unqualified and had no idea what he was doing. Honestly, I would’ve gotten more help from Google or ChatGPT.

This is a perfect example of how broken the Canadian healthcare system is. Free healthcare means nothing when the care is this bad. If you want real help, go across the border — you won’t find it here.

This is not the first time I have had to go there and each time gets worse. The wait times are ridiculous! I took my daughter there tonight with severe upper stomach, chest and back pain. She was vomiting and then in extreme discomfort. Arrived around 7:20 pm and waited. The triage first triage nurse was kind and took her information then asked us to wait. Around 10:30 she told the new triage person that the pain had worsened. The woman ignored her and told her to take a Tylenol and her turn would come. We sat in the waiting room until almost 5 am when they finally called her in, put us in a room and walked away. At about 6:30 am I went and asked if they knew how much longer and was told there are a couple people ahead of her still. We walked out unseen. Eleven hours, unseen, broken vending machines so could not get a drink or anything, Five people in the nursing station doing absolutely nothing and no patients getting care. Maybe they could send three home and get another doctor so patients get care. I won’t go back EVER. I will make the drive to Bowmanville where the wait time is posted, usually no more than a two or three hours and you get cared for. Never in my life have I sat for eleven hours, with a child suffering, to be ignored. It wasn’t just us either I watched a baby with life health issues, fever of almost 104 left in the waiting room just as long. Maybe the management needs a pay cut so more doctors can be hired and the people who need care can be seen. The saddest part is that many people walked out without being been seen and having to sit for so long. When people choose ill health and pain over waiting any longer you have to realize there is an issue and fix it. If this were any other type of business they would be closed and bankrupt.

7+ hours with a young child, we gave up. Told over and over Dr has your chart and will be there soon. Also told to keep my kid quiet and stop letting them play with their noisy doll. You entertain a pre-schooler for 7 hours. Shame on our government for having 0 medical services outside of this overtaxed hospital. Trenton a city of 40,000+ should have a walk in clinic not just a virtual one. So many tax dollars waisted and we left unseen by a Physician. Also know that on a weekend there is little to no food options outside a vending machine.
