Fantastic owners, lots of selection including local seasonal produce.

Love the shampoo, cleaning and toothpaste products they carry. My hair has never been so clean and shiny - absolutely no build up.

Great selection of spices. They also carry heritage vegetable seeds. Also have specialty cooking oils, the most amazing whole coffee beans (again local) that produces such flavourful coffee. I could keep going on here.

Really and truly a fantastic place. Having just moved to town permanently, it’s my new favourite go-to place. I truly recommend this cute little store.

I love stopping at Chicory Common whenever I’m passing through Durham! It’s such a charming little store, full of unique finds—especially great vegan and vegetarian alternatives. They offer a small but delicious selection of homemade baked goods, and their bulk spice section is a nice bonus. All in all, it’s a wonderful local gem if you’re on the hunt for healthy foods, vitamins, or natural cleaning and beauty products!

I have visited this store a couple times before. Service has always been good and friendly!

Today, I called before heading in from Hanover area to see if they had organic eggs. The owners wife said they did. I asked what the hens ate. She told me she did not know. I drove to the store to check out the eggs and to buy other items. The service today was non existent. When I entered she was on a personal call . I searched for the eggs and other items. I could not find them. Then I stood for about 10 minutes in her view at the till area waiting for assistance. Another lady in the store then walk up to the cash and she continued with her personal call as she stood at the till area. I left when it sounded and looked like she was face timing a child. Since I drove a long way went back into the store about 10 minutes later She was now available. I asked her if they had eggs. She pointed to the back. I was not familiar with the store and could not find them earlier. She indicated that is was inconvienent for her to show me where they were by her expression and her asking me if I needed her to walk back there with me. I asked her again what the hens were fed. She still did not know. I left again as not the trouble the store attendant any further.

They have a great selection of bulk herbs and are willing to get some in for you if they don't have it. Very friendly. Great food. A wonderful spot to go for a delicious and nutritious lunch I think they don't wear masks because they don't believe they are helpful and they are concerned about the negative effects of masking on us all.They do have a plexi glass partition at the front counter very friendly and helpful staff. .

I spend quite awhile at their card selection. Always a stop on our way north. Dud I mention the baked goods for the ride!
