This hospital is a joke. I thought i seen it all when I sat there for 4 hours with a toddler unable to breathe saying I was going to just leave and they said they'd understand. But tonight I went there with my husband who had just passed out on the floor and was having chest pains and didn't get triaged for 30 minutes. If nothing else they could check the vitals immediately it is an emerg. Absolutely ridiculous will take my chances of driving an hour away before I ever set foot in there again.

Good luck trying to speak with someone on the main line (945-5111) - I'm on my 10th attempt today to try and get information and no answer - the phone disconnects after so many rings. AND when someone does answer, they hang up!! If you’re lucky enough to actually speak with someone - they're short with their answers and have 0 desire to help – very unprofessional.

I've been back and forth to carbonear hospital now since Saturday. Everyone was very understanding, polite, and welcoming. As somebody who has a really bad fear of needles, they were as gentle as could be and understood my fear. All three visits, everything was tidy and well planned out. The longest I've been there is 4 hours. That includes everything, though. I only had to wait a small amount of time before everything got moving.
Thank you to all the staff! I'll see you again later today for another appointment, but I'm sure it will be just as good as the rest.

My woman had a baby over to carbonear hospital and she had a emergency c-section, two weeks in the healing process and she had to go over to the emergency because her incision was sore with discharge but wasn't sure about infection and had her waiting the whole day and was still not seen, this isn't good enough and needs to be dealt with, certain staff was ignorant, unprofessional, or just don't give a shit, and didn't even get our sons birth certificate yet.

This "Hospital" was not even close to being up to par as to how a hospital should be run. The staff were negligent, very short with every patient waiting. The facilities were absolutely filthy which ESPECIALLY being a hospital is absolutely unacceptable. There was literal feces on the soap dispenser in the washroom, the waiting room area and halls were quite dirty you could see the obvious build up on dirt and dust in the corners, on the chairs, counters, etc. They appear to take in patients based off of who they know the best rather than in any sort of proper order. I am actually appalled, I mean in general Canadas health centers are underfunded and in need of more care, but this was just disgusting. I would hope I never have a serious injury and end up here as I would be immensely fearful of contracting a serious infection.

We brought mom to emergency at 11 noon. It’s now 3:15. Mom was brought in by ambulance and she is now sitting in the waiting room. It’s been almost two hours since they did bloodwork and when I ask the receptionist, who just returned from her hour lunch break, if there was anything they could do or if there was anything that could be done she said “ we’re runned off our legs in here”, I asked if she know if they knew anything about bloodwork results, “we don’t know” I ask when the dr would be able to see us, if she could give me any idea, then she says “ the Dr. Will see you when he’s ready” she then turned around and I had to walk away. Mom is delirious cold and confused. How are we supposed to help our aging families if we are treated with such lack of respect.
