Depuis 9 mois que je suis déménagé au Manitoba, j'ai du envoyé plus de 150 pages de documents afin de confirmer mon identité, mon adresse. J'ai n'ai reçu ma carte, il est impossible de communiquer avec eux par téléphone (a cause du Covid 2 ans après la fin de la pandémie!). J'ai envoyé un courriel, le service avise qu'il faut 4 semaines pour avoir une réponse!. J'ai communiqué avec ''l'hôpital'' de ma ville qui n'est en fait qu'une petite clinique familiale minable. On ma promis une réponse rapide que j'attend toujours. Bientôt je n'aurais plus de médicaments de ma province antérieure, comment pourrais je avoir mes médicaments au Manitoba? J'ai du payé de ma poche les services de physiothérapie malgré une prescription médicale car je ne suis pas inscrite au régime de la province. MINABLE!

Many people have complained about their missing files submitted online and long queues

My experience is GOING STRAIGHT THERE IN PERSON WITH EVERY document on hand ( even for your Spouse ) and COME IN THE AFTERNOON!!

MOST PEOPLE COME EARLY SO IN THE MORNING IT GETS STUCK!!! Good luck ?

THEY WONT GIVE YOU THE CARD ON SITE anymore ; it will be sent home after 4-6 weeks. You come in person to submit your immigration papers and Go Home !

Finally I got my heath card by coming in person after submitting online ( by email) for 3 months . Do not wait anymore if you have submitted online. It will take too long.

The office is open from 8:30-4:30pm weekdays . From noon onward the wait time is less and less but you may be cut off from getting in line so I suggest that you go early and willing to wait for around 2-3 hours.

The required documents include but not limited to :
1) your work permit/ study permit
2) your rental lease
If you cannot provide the rental lease , provide any 2 of the following : ( check more on their website- Manitoba health card)
- DRIVING LICENSE
- Gas / utility bills

3) their registration form ( download online and fill and signed) . Noted that there are two kinds : E- registration and in-person form. Download and use the in- person one.

IMPORTANT : if your husband / wife/ spouse is applying with you and your are the Primary applicant, you need your Marriage Certificate!!!

Even if your spouse is a Visitor/ holding a visitor Visa , they can be covered for 6 months if you can provide their Air Flight ticket and itinerary plans showing the dates they arrived.

THE PROCEDURE IS AS FOLLOW:

You may have to line up OUTSIDE the ROOM if CROWED.
A SECURITY GUARD may guide you when you first enter the room

You come to the first Person to tell him your purpose: GETTING new HEALTH CARD or updating it ( Do online is suggested)

? To extend your card , with your new immigrant status deadline , Fax or Mail, NO Online service for this request !!!

He will check your required documents- If Ok , then you will get your waiting number slip.
Then you wait till called upon.
They will photocopy your original document and then return it to you.

The service is quick and friendly as long as you prepare the requirements you are good to go in one attempt.

The parking lots are around the building or on the streets ,maximum 2 hours $11 , but you can always extend it if you paid by the app on your phone.

I have been here for about 2 hours and I haven't been able to get into the attention desk. They have 2 people who receive you and it is fast, but after that, there is just one person helping everyone. This is an official organization that receives hundreds of people every day, they definitely should hire more people so the line goes faster.

Submit all the documents for claims of last year, still hear nothing back. Called probably 4 times, each time wait for 2 hours, still can’t give me my money back. Said manager will be following up, but everytime call manager’s number no one pick up the phone, left messages, no one call back. I sure don’t understand why do I pay tax for this kind of service.

Efficient service, I paid street parking for an hour but health center did my work in flat 25 minutes. New card registration. Liked the way they attended each individual.

The worst service ever. I walked in to extend my health card and was told it will be processed in 4-6 weeks. However it didn’t come, and I walked in again, waiting for more than three hours again with my frustrated baby. This time I was told there is no record showing I have applied for the extension. So I have to apply for it one more time. Now I am in ER without a valid health card and have to pay from my pocket for $1350 and asked for reimbursement once the health card has been mailed. My two babies were born in Winnipeg, they are Canadian, but I have to pay for everything now. Regular check up, vaccine, clinic, and expensive ER. WONDERFUL!

My sister's coverage was dropped for no rhyme or reason. She's a born and raised in Winnipeg Canadian citizen who's been given the run around for almost a year while trying to get her health card activated again. Next, she will go to the press as she is actually getting nowhere with staff. The incompetence at MB Health is beyond embarrassing.
