When we first started the mortgage process we decided to go with our big bank to keep all our financial products in one spot. We started the process with the bank and got pre-approved with them. Amy was the perfect mortgage broker to help guide us through the financing process of buying our first home and we absolutely recommend her! She first explained what a mortgage broker is and does and how there is nothing but benefit to us in using a broker instead of traditionally going to the bank for a mortgage. She went above and beyond to clearly explain all the mortgage lingo such as variable vs fixed rates, terms and renewals, amortization, CMHC insurance and when its required and related them all to our scenario and what would be our best options. Speaking of options, she proposed many different scenarios in excel to show what our monthly payments would be based on varying purchase prices, down payments, and if we had supplemental rental income.

We didn’t end up buying our home until over an 18-month period of having first contacted Amy. During this time, she continually followed up to see where we were at in our home search and was avidly checking different lenders, interest rates and updating our rate holds to ensure we received the best rate possible. At closing time, she promptly helped us close our financing condition in about 5 business days!
